La Playa Restaurant at Corregidor Inn: Keep your expectations at a minimum

    Corregidor Inn

Don't expect too much from the lunch inclusion in your day trip to Corregidor. There was soup, a salad bar, pasta and two meat dishes for you to enjoy. The dessert table consisted of fruits (by that I mean plates full of watermelon) and rice cake. The food tasted alright; nothing was spectacular though.

The hotel in which the restaurant was located was pretty old. However, the restaurant itself had a cozy feel to it, with its red clay tiles, white walls and rattan furniture. Windows were left open to let the breezy air come in. The view was fantastic when upon looking outside.

Tip: Sit by the window. Not only will you feel the breeze, but you will also get stunning view.

LA PLAYA RESTAURANT: RUN BY SUN CRUISES

    View from Restaurant Terrace

Included in the price of the Corregidor Island Tour, was a buffet lunch at LA PLAYA RESTAURANT. All I can say is that it was just OK. They offered a pork dish, chicken, pasta, rice and a dessert bar with jello and some cake. We were offered a drink on the way in, but any other drinks, including water, had to be purchased.
The restaurant was nice and it had a terrace out back with some incredible views. I even got a pic of the Malinta Tunnel in the distance.

Corregidor Inn: Buffet Lunch After Morning Tour

by cyndymc Written Jun 10, 2009
    Buffet Lunch
    4 more images

Part of the Sun Cruise Corregidor Tour Package is a buffet lunch after the morning tour, so we didn't have to spend extra for food. Venue was the Corregidor Inn. Our group arrived early so we had the chance to pick the best seats: at the airy terrace which offers a beautiful view of landscapes and seascapes. Buffet lunch was generally good, with wide selection of dishes.

Favorite Dish: I didn't have any favorite, though I liked the sotanghon guisado. The grilled pork was half done, the meat in the caldereta was kinda tough, and the vegetable dish was quite bland for my taste, not to mention the undercooked vegetables. I don't mind crispy vegetables, but the ones they served were almost uncooked.

    Corregidor island: homemade

    by Jimbo222 Written May 24, 2009

Had a daytrip, so i'm not sure with regards to the food during at night and breakfast or other parts of the island. Anyway, we had lunch as part of the package tour. It was traditional homemade food; chopsuey, liempo, lomi, fruits, maja de blanca, roasted chicken. All in all, the food is nothing special, its decent, but nothing great. Hopefully they make it better though.

    Favorite Dish: Lomi Soup

    food at the recreational area

    by the_wanderlust Updated Apr 20, 2008
    my breakfast - longsilog

the food at the hotel is quite expensive, imagine a canned soda costs about 85php. so better have your dinner and breakfast at the recreational area. its just a 3-minute walk from the hotel. the food ranges from 120php-200php. it'll take around 10-15minutes for your foods to get served. to pass time, they have a videoke so you can sing your heart out while waiting for your food.

    Harbour Square, Manila, Philippines
    4 more images

When you return from the Corregidor Island trip, there is a nice place called Harbour Square just next to the CCP ferry terminal where you take the ferry. There are many restaurants at this place, including western, japanese, chinese, ice-cream etc (there is also a Jollibean fast food restaurant here as well).

The Harbour Square has also nice view of the city skyline, Roxas Boulevard, boats area and you can actually walk from here to nearby Roxas Boulevard of Manila (which is a famous attraction, please visit my VT City of Manila page for more information).

Lunch at La Playa Restaurant, Corregidor Island
    4 more images

If you are on the Corregidor Island day tour or over-night stay at Corregidor Inn, you will have the chance to eat at the La Playa Restaurant located at Corregidor Inn. The lunch buffet at this restaurant is good, and you should sit at the side balcony area or open space area of the restaurant to have good views of the beautiful surrounding sceneries (see photos). Before the buffet, you will be given a welcome drink.

Usually, the buffet lunch is about 1.5 hours, which will also give you enough time to visit the souvenir shop (see my shopping tip) as well as to explore the Corregidor Inn and surroundings. By the way, the price of lunch is included in the price of the day tour (unless you decide otherwise).

Corregidor Inn Restaurant: Magdala ng Panabla!

by nimato Updated Dec 28, 2007

The inn's restaurant has a cozy ambiance that makes up for its forgetful food. Although the taste is just OK, the price tag that comes with the food makes you want to forget them.

If you're on a tight budget and really want to stay a night on the island, it is advisable that you bring along panablas like Lucky Me Supreme Noodles in bowls; there's a hot and cold water dispenser at the inn's hallway. ;D

Favorite Dish: Not really favorite but just to give an idea of the food and its price:
Carbonarra -- P175 per hearty serving
Spaghetti with meatballs -- P175 per hearty serving
Assorted fried meat slices (thin) with rice -- P350 per serving

The one and only restaurant in the Island

    by precy828 Written Jun 13, 2007

The restaurant is very homey. It matches the chairs and tables. It has no aircon but it's breezy since it's open air. It is overlooking the sea and the swimming pool. It's a little bit expensive also.

Favorite Dish: My kid's favorite food at the Corregidor Inn restaurant is their Churros and their toasted bread with jam and butter. The food is ok. I can't say that it's superb because the taste is just average and you have nothing to have it compared because it's the only in the island.

Our tour operator arranged for a buffet dinner by the beach. The wind blowing gently, 30's band music wafting through the radio, good food and lively conversation with interesting people. Perfect!
