February 1 - 3 is the festival of the local patron saint Nuestra Seniora de Candelaria. This is the biggest town event celebrated by locals. Usually, the centre of the town is closed off from traffic for at least 2 weeks around these dates because a lot of the streets are set up for eating, drinking, flea markets, parades, caracol, fairs, concerts, etc.

Big name entertainers, artists, musicians, etc. perform on stage at the Plaza (front of the church).
