Try to visit Ogtong Cave Resort . They have this small cave wherein you can take a bath. Entrance for the resort would only cost 40php if you're not going to swim and 80php if you will. You can go around the resort and take pictures and enjoy the quiet scenery. The resort have a nice landscape and going around is so relaxing..

Since Maia's Resort has no beach that we can swim at, they have a nice garden and swimming pool that we entertained ourselves with. They also have billiard table where you can play for free, and it's unlimited because we are the only guests during our visit.

When we arrive in Bantayan, we asked the locals there on where we can have our food "Paluto"..Luckily, the person we asked caters that. We were'nt able to have our dinner food for "Paluto", the local said that there are no more fresh fish available in the nearby market. So the following day, as early as 9am, they knocked at our house and showed us the fish that they bought. For 500php, we have a very sumptous lunch! Which includes, sweet and sour fish, grilled fish, Inihaw na talong with kamatis and Adobong Squid! The food was placed in a basket which includes some plates and fork..

    Favorite Dish: Any fish recipe!

The menu has enough varieties. We were able to try Chicken with mango juice, Grilled Shrimps, Sizzling squid, Chicken curry with Mango, American Breakfast, Filipino breakfast, Buko Shake, Mango Shake and garlic rice. They are all very good except for the sizzling squid coz I'm not used to sizzling squid with sauce. But the garlic rice is exceptionally good and I'd say that it is the best I have tasted ever!!

Favorite Dish: Garlic rice is the best. Of course it has garlics, with some spices and it has that buttery taste that it makes it exceptionally good.

The pedicab driver that we hired took us to this bar..Since we are looking for a bar that would provide us Unlimited videoke sessions..The bar was a little bit small but the waitresses are accomodating. They even bought us Chips/corniK since they don't have it. The CR is clean. They have a Dart Board.

We were expecting that Bantayan is a peaceful and quite town, but to our surprise (and disappointment), our 2-nights stay in Bantayan is bothered by activities at the barangay near Maia's resort. First night, there are people singing their heart's out in a hired videoke. On the second night, young people are having a dance party. Uuugh!! I was not able to sleep that night. The sound system was so loud I can feel it vibrating.

Bantayan is located in the norhern part of Cebu. From Manila to Cebu, the plane trip will take an hour if there are no delays due to weather or busy airport traffic. Going to Cebu, it took us an hour and a half due to busy airport traffic. After that, we hailed a taxi to go to North terminal for the bus that will take us to Hagnaya, departure point to Sta.Fe, Bantayan. The taxi is supposed to be metered but the driver insisted on having a contract price. Ok, fine, whatever.
When we arrived at North terminal, we were swarmed with vendors asking if there are luggages to be carried and asking what ride are we taking. As best as we could, we tried to find the right bus to ride. There are ordinary and airconditioned bus. We rode the ordinary bus since it takes a long time to fill-up the air-conditioned bus. The bus fare is quite cheap for the considerable distance.
We arrived in Hagnaya at 2:30 pm. To our disgust, last remaining trip for ferry boat is 5:30 pm so we wasted 3 hours of our precious time waiting for the ferry. One good thing that happened here is that we were able to arrange our accomodation while we were still there. The ferry trip took almost an hour to get to Sta.Fe. We were welcomed by Nini and they transported us to Maia's Resort for a 20 minute-trip. Wooh! We were so tired due to the long trip but our dinner at Maia's compensated for all the exhaustion. All's well that ends well. =)

Ferry schedules can be irregular and this will cause much delay in your trip. If you are coming from Manila, better have the earliest flight so you could arrive at Hagnaya early. Also, it's ok to ride the ordinary buses to Hagnaya since you can enjoy the view better on your ride. Ferries leave to Sta. Fe more frequently in the morning than in the afternoon.
