From Hagnaya Port you will board a small sea vessel that looks more like a fishing vessel. This will carry you for 1 hour to Sta. Fe wharf. Very slow.

Ticket price depends of what class.

1st class(aircon with TV) - 150 pesos
2nd class ( at the bottom aircon with TV) - 145 pesos
3rd class ( deck with TV) - 135 pesos

Their 1st class is useless, I'm sweating and very uncomfortable plus their old Chinese martial art movie is very annoying.

You can't choose a boat so we can't do anything about it. This is just to give you a picture of your way to Paradise.

Trisikad

This is not for the whole Bantayan Island. Bantayan Island is compose of 3 towns so it's not possible :)
Trisikad is for short distance only like just wandering around Sta. More convenient to have a trisikad tour around 4 PM to 6 PM.

From sugar beach going to Town proper is only 10 pesos farther than that like the wharf, going to moby dick or Sta. Fe municipal town is around 20 pesos 1 way. You can give the trisikad driver 150 pesos and you can go anywhere you want :)

The most convenient and safest way if you to go beyond Sta. Fe like visiting St. Peter and Paul Church at Bantayan or to see the Sunset at Madridejos etc.

The fare is 25 pesos going to Bantayan town proper and around 50 if going to Madridejos. Drivers usually wait for passengers beside Sto. Nino Church across the public market.

From Bantayan, there is a terminal near the Bantayan market. Just look for the signage "Sta. Fe".

Ceres Bus

Ceres Bus( Yellow bus)is one among the buses that have scheduled trip everyday to Hagnaya Port (gateway to Bantayan) Most of the trips are Non- aircon except their first trip at 6 AM, 7:30 AM and 9:30 AM which is air-conditioned. For me Ceres Bus is more convenient than other buses at North bus terminal which are mostly are Non- aircon buses. By the way The travel to Hagnaya will take 3 hours so it is up to you.

Non-aircon Bus is only 70 pesos other minibus is only 50 pesos
Aircon Bus is 110 pesos much expensive but more comfortable.

North Bus terminal is about 20 minutes from Mactan International airport with traffic on an early Saturday morning.

The bus fare is Php 80 per head and there also airconditioned vans for rent good for about 16 persons for Php 1,800 it is a great offer if you are traveling by group but since its just 5 of us including 2 kids (Zeus and Elijah), we opted to ride the bus... tipid reason...wahahahahahaha

It is a 3 to 4 hours trip from the North bus terminal to Hagnaya Port, and you will enjoy the scenery along the way, from the beaches and ports that you passed along it will then turn into view of mountains then fields so its really like sight-seeing.

after 2 hours of the trip there is a stop over, I forgot which City is it. I bought softdrinks and chorizo which is Php 8 each and it is yummy.... super

Island-style bicycle

It's a cool bicycle that can seat as many as 4 people with space/compartment for luggage. This transportation mode took us everywhere and is the common way for tourists to get around the island; however, I always felt terrible every time we hired one of these bicycles because you can really see the drivers sweating like bullets when they pedal and push hard. It becomes a very grueling task for them especially in areas where there is a slight uphill. One time we ended up walking to the last mile of the day's journey because we felt bad and gave the two drivers (I should say "pedalers") a huge amount of tip (along with the very cheap transport fee) that we calculated will last them for at least a few days, so they don't have to go back to work right away and pedal again! :(

A long but rewarding journey!

Though a long and and tiresome journey awaits you if you choose to come to Bantayan the beautiful island will compensate. After the long flight to Philippines you need another short flight to Cebu and then a flight to the island by SEAIR. The flight is on Friday and the fare is 990Ph(discount price and 1,350Ph (standard price).
Alternatively you can take a bus or a hired van to Hagnaya near the north tip of the Cebu island.. Vans from airport terminal make it a non stop trip lasting 2-2,5 hours and take up to 8 persons. They cost 3,500 to 4,000Ph. There is also a public van-bus leaving the airport for Hagnaya. This costs 100ph but it is very crampy.
The bus takes 3 hours but it might last 4 depending on the traffic including a stop for lunch. It costs 70Ph and it's good if you have plenty of time or little money. Buses start at Cebu north Bus Terminal at 4.30 and then every half an hour. Fares are about 70Ph. Start early.
Then at Hagnaya there are 4 ferries to Santa Fe starting at 7.30. The fare is 70Ph.
RO-Ro-boats make it in 1 hour. Fares are about 150-170Ph.
Two Fastcrafts can make it in half an hour and cost 100Ph
There is also the option of taking a boat from Cebu directly to Santa Fe for 200Ph three days a week (Tues., Thu.and Sat.) at 9.00 am.
Upon arriving you can pick your choice among the tricycles and motorcycles gathered at the dock trying to convince you they are the best for your transfer to your hotel...
