Warnings and Dangers

Fuente Osmena Cirlce

It's always better to give a price range or limit when asking for suggestions. What someone thinks is "reasonable" may not be reasonable to you. Several here have suggested the Fuente Osmena Circle area. This is the heart of the city, but the worst area for very aggressive street people who will harass you trying to sell you drugs or beg for money and even try to pick your pocket. This is certainly NOT an area to take the wife and kids. You will feel like you have walked into the lions den.

You may want to consider some of the hotels and resorts on Mactan where the airport and the only beaches near the city are located. It is a short ride into the city if you want to explore things. Without knowing more about your budget, I would not attempt to make a recommendation for lodging.
