Moalboal Things to Do

  • The resorts are next each other

We haven't realized that the resorts are just next to each other. We only seen it during our walk on the beach, the resorts are build next each other the only thing separate from it is a fence. This resort next to us was a bit luxury and more expensive. They have security guard and the whole area has fence which not easy to accessed. The resorts in...

  • Discover the species during the walk

It was quite interested during our walk on the beach, the two Canadian kids from our hotel was with us, we help them looking for species as they're asking for it. I haven't expected to see this species here. When is low tide is really nice to be curious, what we found here is something that I haven't seen often. In Moalboal is known for this kind...

  • Stroll the beach when is low tide

Wear your swim suit and take some towels, while stroll to the beach of Panagsama is very tempting for a swim, in the area near our hotel there were nice white beach and not very crowd. But if you really want the nicest beach about 7 kilometres north of Panagsama you'll find White Beach or...

  • Not much else than diving

There's not much else to do apart from diving. But the diving's good (altough there weren't many different diving spots in 1998); although this was before the big El Nino year. I have no idea how much the area was affected by this natural desaster.

On the "main street" on Panagsama beach you can find the Last Filling Station with a perfect view, friendly staff, and a very good menu. Prices might be slightly higher than in some of the other places, but who cares when a meal with beer is still less than 3 USD?

Favorite Dish: They have red and green thai curry, that taste almost not at all like thai curry, but it's still very good!

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

They have a pool table, good music, fair Italian food and cheap beer and friendly staff and costumers. It's one of the favorite meeting places for the foreigners working in Moalboal (diving u know).

And if you're lucky the two very charming young girls, Gloria and Rose, are still working there!

Dress Code: Anything - just wear something, don't show up without a t-shirt in the evening.

Moalboal Warnings and Dangers

  • by Matthewstanford Written Sep 25, 2009

No not the snakes in the road but the ones that try and charge you P80 to take you from the bus stop to Panagsama beach when you have just paid that to get from Cebu city on the bus. Start walking and they will soon knock 30 off the price. Or do what I did and walk all the way.........it takes about half an hour.

  • horse riding in the jungle

It was a lot of fun to do a horse riding excursion through the Cebu jungle. The horses were quite small, but very fast and in a good mood... They didn't have "normal" horse riding equipment, so we sat on old rice sacks bent around the horses back... But it was quite ok and (almost) nobody went down...
