After the whale shark watching, my friends and I went to see this Tumalog falls which is only about 10mins away from the resort. We hired a van from the Brumini beds and resort and paid 500php. The van can only bring us at the entrance since the road from there is very steep. Entrance fee costs 20php.

Going down the mountain is not a problem so it only took us 15mins to get to the falls. One of the locals said that it will be easier to hire a “habal-habal”- it’s a local thing they call when you ride a motorcycle and ride at the back of the driver, costs 100php. We haven’t thought about it since we prefer going together though it will take real effort to get to the falls.

The falls is really awesome! From people like us who came from the city, a view like this, is really a breathtaking experience! We tried to bathe from its water to get cool... and bbbrrrr, it’s really damn cold! I observed that the people seem to be enjoying. There were families having picnics, some group of friends were busy taking candid photos while others just bathe:)

Whale shark watching is really the reason why my friends and I were here. Though I don't prefer swimming or doing anything underwater, I went with my friends.. I just thought that this is my chance to see a real one.

Whale shark watching is done at 630am-12nn. You will have to coordinate with the resort where you're staying regarding the time you prefer doing the activity so they can tell the multi-cab driver at what time you will be picked up in the morning. Service fee for the ride is 20php which also includes bringing you back to the resort after you’re done with the activity.
Before the activity, you will have to go first to the briefing area. You can swim with the whale sharks but should be 4 km away from it and for those who would like to swim with it should wash off their sunblocks. Pictures can be taken underwater by one of the divers assisting the activity. Below are the fees to be paid after the briefing:

“Literally” whale shark watching- 300php
Whale shark watching + Snorkeling- 500php

It will take 30mins to do the fun activity. Though I stayed only in the boat I got a close look at the whale sharks, wehe. At that time, there were 7 whale sharks being fed by the local fishermen. I asked the boatman regarding the # of the whale sharks in the area, he said that a total of 15 whale sharks are usually seen.

Fisherman feed the whale sharks in Tan-awan barangay , Oslob. They will take you out on a bangka to swim with these magnificent creatures. They are adolescent sharks between 4-6 meters (12-18 feet). They do the same in Donsol, Bicol...but, these whales are not fed, they must find them feeding naturally so it may take some time to locate them, but, you may see 10 meter ( 30 ft) sharks. In Oslob as soon as the sharks start to fed, its just a 5 min Bangka ride to the area. They are so beautiful and swim so gracefully for being so massive its awe inspiring. Its best to visit around 5am and during week days to avoid the crowds. Your session in only 30mins. but, if there is not a lot of people waiting they give you more time. Bring at least a decent snorkle ...you can rent mask and fins there. Don't forget to tip your boatman.

cebu city to Oslob

The ride to/from Oslob from Cebu city takes approximately 2-3 hours depending on traffic. We hired a taxi near our hotel for $90. We requested that he pick us up at our hotel at 2:30am. We got his cell # and a photo of his license. The driver promptly collected us at the appointed time and stayed around to drive us back. We made a quick stop in Carcar to buy chicharron from a stand. It is well worth it! The best I've ever tasted. This was a regular economy car taxi cab, the four of us were a bit cramped but, we were too tired to care.
