Oslob Things to Do

  • Visit Tumalog falls

From the whale shark resort, hire a habal habal (140/pax) or a multi cab (600 for 5 pax) and go to this waterfall! Enjoy the cold water and some photoshoot!

  • Take a dip in Tumalog Falls

From the whaleshark interaction area, you can ride a trike to send you to the road going to Tumalog Falls. In our case, we paid the trike 300 pesos for back and forth service including waiting time. That's from the lodge to whaleshark interaction, to the Tumalog Falls road then to Sumilon Island Jetty Port and back to the lodge in the...

  • Heritage Tour

We decided to do the Heritage tour on our own since it's just walking distance from the lodge. You can find 3 sites in Oslob Poblacion. First stop is the church of the Nuestra Senora de la Immaculada Concepcion. This structure was constructed in the 19th century using polished coral stones. Then just a few steps from the church is the Cuartel....

  • Bluewater Sumilon Island Day Tour

The jetty port going to Sumilon Island is just a few mins away from the whaleshark interaction. We took the 930 boat ride as we went to Tumalog Falls first after the whaleshark interaction. It 's a huge boat so you don't have to worry about the waves plus the trip is not that long as well. Around 15-20mins.At the resort, we were immediately amazed...

  • Whaleshark Interaction

Whaleshark interaction in Oslob is cheaper and hassle-free as compared to the one in Donsol, Sorsogon. We tried whaleshark interaction last April 2013 in Donsol but opted to go island hopping instead as we were informed that there was only one whaleshark sighted for the past 4 weeks. In Oslob, the whaleshark is just 5mins away from the shore. They...

  • Tumalog falls

After the whale shark watching, my friends and I went to see this Tumalog falls which is only about 10mins away from the resort. We hired a van from the Brumini beds and resort and paid 500php. The van can only bring us at the entrance since the road from there is very steep. Entrance fee costs 20php. Going down the mountain is not a problem so it...

  • Whale Shark Watching

Whale shark watching is really the reason why my friends and I were here. Though I don't prefer swimming or doing anything underwater, I went with my friends.. I just thought that this is my chance to see a real one.Whale shark watching is done at 630am-12nn. You will have to coordinate with the resort where you're staying regarding the time you...

  • Visit the local Church

Its a lovely old church near the beach.Late update: Church was ruined by a fire in 2008 but is under renovation :(

  • swim with Butanding (whale sharks)

Fisherman feed the whale sharks in Tan-awan barangay , Oslob. They will take you out on a bangka to swim with these magnificent creatures. They are adolescent sharks between 4-6 meters (12-18 feet). They do the same in Donsol, Bicol...but, these whales are not fed, they must find them feeding naturally so it may take some time to locate them, but,...

Oslob Transportation

The ride to/from Oslob from Cebu city takes approximately 2-3 hours depending on traffic. We hired a taxi near our hotel for $90. We requested that he pick us up at our hotel at 2:30am. We got his cell # and a photo of his license. The driver promptly collected us at the appointed time and stayed around to drive us back. We made a quick stop in Carcar to buy chicharron from a stand. It is well worth it! The best I've ever tasted. This was a regular economy car taxi cab, the four of us were a bit cramped but, we were too tired to care.
