Fruit stalls behind Chung Hwa Hospital
There were many fruit stalls located behind Chung Hwa Hospital (near to Fuente Osmena). Each type of fruits are stacked up neatly which resembles rows and rows of pyramid. You are able to find the native fruits here. The native fruits include: mango, mangosteen, durian, nanka(jackfruit), lanzones, marang, avocado etc.We know that mangos are Philippines' famous export, however, we didn't know that avocado is their native fruit too. When we were in Cebu during August, it was the avacado season and the size of the avocados are huge. Coming from an Asian country, we hardly consider bananas, coconut, or mangoes as exotic fruits. What caught our eye was a fruit named Marang. It has a prickly tough shell, brown and round in shape. Marang is a relative of Nanka (jackfruit).
