    Local breakfast at Banaue
    2 more images

The breakfast at this accommodation is superb and so tasty and delicious. It is something different but this is the taste of a local breakfast here. This breakfast is included in our hotel reservation as we opted to pay extra 50 pesos a day to include a breakfast and the accommodation is about 400 pesos per day. The current rate at that time is about 1 Australian dollar to 40 pesos.

Las Vegas Restaurant: Eat at Las Vegas

The Las Vegas restaurant was recommended to us by our tour guide. This restaurant is a favorite among the foreigners in the area. The ambiance is low key and the decorations are a mixture of native Ifugao and typical American pub

Favorite Dish: We ordered their special "Las Vegas Rice" which is composed of pork/chicken adobo, veggies, fried egg and brown rice.

Imbayah Restaurant: Banaue Hotel & Youth Hostel Restaurant

I think the best place to eat here in the morning is the one located in the Banaue hotel. Why I said this is that....its nice having your breakfast seeing the sunrise and the mountains in the cordillera rerqion as your main menu.

I tried their Pamigat Breakfast for about Php 240.00 and its really a heavy breakfast....just right for the hectic activities of the day.

What a nice thing to start the day*

Favorite Dish: I went here during breakfast and i loved their PAMIGAT BREAKFAST MENU

CAFES IN THE CONCRETE BUILDING: VIEW THE SCENE BELOW

by davidjo Written Mar 8, 2012
    HORRIBLE CONCRETE STRUCTURE!!!!

There are a few small cafes in the monstrous 3 storey building. It is quite pleasant to spend some time there having a coffee watching the comings and going across the road. Good for photography if you have a zoom lens. Unfortunately the building sticks out like a soar thumb and ruins the picturesque village centre.

People's Lodge and Restaurant: Great Food with a Great View of Rice Terraces - 1

by myspices Updated Apr 4, 2011

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

    Restaurant's specialty : People's Rice

The restaurant has a great view - the rice terraces. You can just sit at the balcony and enjoy your meal while admiring the spectacular rice terraces right in front of you. The restaurant serves a variety of food for breakfast, lunch and dinner - they also serve snacks, sandwiches, salads and soups. We took our lunch here and after our long walk we came back here for tea. It's really a cosy place to hang out. The waitresses here are patient and cheerful.

We can even leave our luggages with them when we did a short tour around Banaue.

Favorite Dish: People's Rice - recommended by the waiter and hmmmm.. a good meal. Rice (purplish kind) served with chopsuey and a slice of fried chicken. Comes with a bowl of asparagus soup. A banana as dessert.

    Price : 100pesos

    Banana pancakes with honey

We had our lunch here and we came back for tea. Place is clean and has a beautiful view of the rice terraces. A variety of choice in the menu - for breakfast/lunch/dinner/snack. You can either sit at the balcony to have your food or sit at the tables inside the restaurant. Good place to hang out if you are waiting to board your bus to Manila. The people here are friendly and courteous.

We were allowed to leave our luggages here while we went on a short tour round the village, at no charge.

We also packed a set of sandwiches for our journey to Manila. Cost per set 45pesos

Favorite Dish: A big serving of pancake filled with smashed bananas. Very filling indeed. Served with a dish of honey for added flavour. Cruchy bite, sweet taste... delicious!

Right smack in Batad rice terraces: Malawach...what on earth is that?

It's the pizza of the middle east...I think.

I won't forget the malawach dish, and the place where I had it. It costs P80 and we were a bit wary about ordering such strange food but its great. I haven't eaten all that tomatoes in one sitting. The owner said they once had guests from Israel and they taught her how to make it.

Las Vegas Restaurant: A Taste of Heaven

    by backpacker24 Written Aug 22, 2007

When eating out, find a place where you can savor on real freshly grown veggies. Banaue is obviously known for rice, you can eat as much as you want, because you'll need that extra calories going around the area.

Las Vegas restaurant is apparently the most popular joint here (i think since Cafe Jam closed down?) This is where we would get dinner. I think the place would best suit your filipino taste.

The view from the restaurant is awesome! Don't forget the rushing river behind Las Vegas Restaurant.

Favorite Dish: Nothing I can't eat in here. My friends Steven and Jamie though would feast on chicken adobo and fries. The people were warm although it took a bit of a time for the food to be served.
