This traditional house is called "fale". The house has thick roof made of grass, windowless and has 4 large posts. It is said that the posts were installed to prevent dampness. The posts also have rat guards to prevent rats from entering the main house as the granary is usually located beside a fale.
The photo was taken with me at the top of the stairs with my parents at both sides. As this house is not an authentic one (only used for display) this does not have displays of horns, skulls, jaws and other ornaments that shows how wealthy the owner is. Looking closely, one would also notice a light bulb inside which is not available in original huts.

Ifugao tribal dance is fast becoming a lost heritage. If ever you have the chance to visit Banaue, you can watch the native dance at the Banaue Hotel for free. This is a very nice experience as the dancers wear their traditional costumes while doing their ceremonial dances. If your lucky, you may even be selected to join in the dancing.
