    Banawe Things to Do

At the viewpoint, I was totally awed by the panorama- the high-rising, rice terraces. It has a skillfully devised irrigation system. I've always wondered how did the Igorots built the terraces thousands of years ago, in the absence of modern machineries and equipments.Visit the giftshops for some quality, low priced souvenir items.

  • Rabies From Friendly Dogs

    Banawe Warnings and Dangers

We did NOT encounter any aggressive dogs in Banawe. However, be very careful when holding food in your hands, as an otherwise friendly dog may decide to grab it for himself, miss, and bite your hand instead. Unfortunately, that happened to me - my skin barely broke, but that's enough for a rabies infection, and more unfortunately, Banawe has one of...

  • Rice Terrace

    Banga-an Favorites

The Rice Terraces are very beautiful. I love the rich green colors! You could shoot rolls and rolls of film here in the valley. I didn't and I wished I did. You can find the paths between the rice terraces. I tried to stay on those so the farmers wouldn't get upset at me. When you are upclose you can see how much work goes into building,maintaining...

    Banga-an Transportation

To get to Bangaan from Banaue you can hire a tricycle or your own jeepney but the way I went was by small bus. You get the local feel! You get to ride with chickens and goats too!! Anyways they were on my bus. I found some rice sacks to sit on that were more comfortable than the seats on this bumpy ride!
