Favorite thing: Pagudpud is a different world that transcends your regular beach hopping acitvity. I like it most because its not crowded, very serene and the people are warm and welcoming. The Blue Lagoon in Maira-ira Point, about 24 km away from Saud beach was just awesome, i cant blink when i saw the jade green sea water in a crescent like formation, it was breathtaking.

Favorite thing: We went to Pagudpud 10-15 July 2008. We thought, although it is not the rainy season of the area it is still typhoon season and we should be prepared for bad weather. And the weather was bad indeed. The famous white sands were not white when they were wet and the famous tourquise seas were not tourquise when so wavy. Still there were some positive aspects of the season. First, it was not crowded with tourists and the beach felt vast and reserved for us only. It's also cheaper and easier to bargain. Then we had a half day walk along the beaches and back the inland. We realized that we couldn't have done this if it was sunny (or rainy) so this weather was perfect for walking around. On the other hand, wavy seas are not that inviting and you cannot go snorkeling, diving, etc. when the seas are rough. Even the tricycle tour is not so much fun when it's pouring. We couldn't go up to the waterfall and got a gloomy glimpse of the Blue Lagoon. And we had to cut our holiday short when we learned it was the typhoon Helen approaching. So think of what you want when you are going to Pagudpud during off-season and be prepared.

Favorite thing: Hi,
They have pretty much answered much of your questions. I'd just like to add (if nothing has been said, yet) that the mini bus trip from Laoag to Pagudpud costs P100. There's no AC but if you are travelling at night, it is bearable.
Happy Trip!

Favorite thing: Our recent trip to Pagudpud was made more memorable by the people that we met. Everyone was so helpful and friendly. My sisters and I especially enjoyed our Pagudpud tour because of the trike driver that we got for the day. Mang Arnel made sure that we got to go to all the interesting places in their town. If you ever find yourself in Pagudpud itching to explore, I recommend that you contact Mang Arnel at (0918-6890723) and have him pick you up at your resort.

Favorite thing: If you are the adventurer type & does not mind sleeping on the beach, then you can rent a tent from the caretaker in maira-ira, price between 200-400 and enjoy the beach all by your own. no electricity but you will be provided with a lamp.
Fondest memory: The beach is definitely unforgettable. the water is warm and a lot of fish can be seen swimming near the shore, just be careful though because jellyfish are also abound to stung you, i was mildly stung but that doesn't stop me from enjoying the beach. swim on the far right side of the cove, near the rock formations because there are almost no waves unlike on the center of the cove.

Favorite thing: Lobster is only P300.00 (4 big pieces) we had 1 piece each with garlic/butter/pepper/salt as the sauce. Fish are really fresh and cheap also. Feels like a great vacation, really! You can buy them at the nearby talipapa along the hi-way. You can get there through tricycle or better yet arranged for the tricycle to pick you up at the resort then bring you back. P25/head tricycle ride 1-way.
Fondest memory: Great beach! One of the best beaches I have seen in the Philippines. Very clear water with blue and green water. It is a cove so it has great color. But the water is quite deep. Biglang lalim yung water. There is a part there that you can go snorkeling.
The teamwork of the people when they do their fishing is amazing! Hehe
Very serene place, I can actually stare at the green water for hours and get so refreshed! Not yet commercialized, so the place is very natural, with 180 degrees greeneries.

Favorite thing: I don't know if the various resorts' restaurants still allow this, but you can save money by bringing canned goods and having them cook the food for you there. In our case, we just ordered a pot of soup (bulalo or sinigang) and rice (servings are sensible-- see picture), and the cook saw to it that our canned goods served their purpose. Yum! of course, you'll have to leave a hefty tip, but it's nothing compared to the money you'll save on food!

Favorite thing: Pagudpud also is best known for its pristine beaches and serving as a backdrop for many Siguion-Reyna films (a movie producer that love this place very much) they said, “Pagudpud was our main destination for this holiday tour. After having been there, we vowed to come back to experience once again the local hospitality and explore more of the natural attractions that the place has to offer”.
Fondest memory: It’s along drive and tiring journey if you go there by your private vehicle but once you saw the place… all you’re tiring and long journey is worthwhile… I guarantee you that.
One of my friend just went to Pagudpud last April 2004, he told me that it looks like you’ve seen Boracay Island already more cheaper and department of tourism is doing everything to preserve the place so people will enjoy the scenic and awesome beauty of this place.
