    Bangui Shopping

A makeshift store in one of the sheds along the shore sells various souvenir items. Haggling for a discount is okay. Burgos Things to Do

From Bangui to Burgos, bus fare is Php 20. W hired tricycle to get us from Burgos to the Kapurpurawan rock formation for Php 250. Be careful walking, the rocks can be slippery and so many accidents have happened here before :( Take care of yourself too because the winds are too strong.

  • Tricycle Tour To Burgos

    Burgos Transportation

If you are traveling solo or a couple, it is not cost effective to rent a van. You can opt to hire a tricycle from your resort to the Burgos Lighthouse and Kapurpurawan Rock Formation, and back to your resort. You'll find many tips on this at the Pagudpud Travel Page. You can also ask your resort for help in this regard.

    Burgos Warnings and Dangers

There are many beautiful bonsai-like plants and young mangroves on the way to Kapurpurawan Rock Formation. In the past, many tourists uprooted plants they fancied, prompting the government to penalize offenders. If you think there are no marshals in the place, you're wrong. The caretakers of the place wear plain clothes. You will be fined P2,000 if...

On our way to Vigan, we made a quick stop at the the birthplace of Juan Luna. The original country home he grew up in was ravaged by fire so what you will find on this Badoc street corner is a reconstruction. Luna was a celebrated artist who won accolades in the art capitals of Europe, and he was a passionate man who lived in the moment. His story is darkened by scandal and crimes of passion and life behind the prison walls, all fodder for a painter’s canvass.

The two-story house is a repository of the Luna memorabilia and replicas of his works including the masterpiece Spolarium which won him a gold medal at the National Exposition of Fine Arts in Madrid in 1884. My favorite parts of the house were Luna’s bedroom which is decorated in period furniture and dominated by a large four poster bed, as well as the azotea that connects the 2nd floor living area to the chapel and from which you can walk down to the well and garden.
