The restaurant is inside the garden set up by the owners. Usherettes lead you to a path where you get to see the interesting plants nurtured there, and end up in the dining huts. It was a good concept, as the walking by the plants and pictures of selected items from their menu can really make you hungry. Since we were in Ilocos, we tried their specialties. We ordered Pinakbet, Sizzling Bagnet and Warek Warek, which were all Ok. Price range per meal was P150.
This cafe is also one of the known restaurants in the city. They serve local delicacies as well. The place is right Crisologo street so after a long walk, this is very accessible. We also enjoyed the food here.
I love this restaurant and in my opinion, this is the place to have a good hearty meal with family and friends when you are in Vigan. Even the locals agree with me that this cafe serves the most authentic tasting local delicacy. Price compared to other restaurants is almost the same and one order is good for 2-3 persons unless you are really hungry! The place looks like an old spanish cafe with brick walls and colorful art works. Another important thing about this place is it's very clean and it has good air conditioning system. The waiters are very friendly and the restrooms are clean.
Favorite Dish: Variety of foods are served here. Local dishes such as bagnet (fried crispy pork), pinakbet (vegetable cooked in shrimp paste), dinengdeng (vegetable boiled in another kind of shrimp paste), capiz shellfish, poqui poqui (eggplant dish) are a big hit. They also serve different kinds of pasta which is also tasty and cooked just right. For the adventure seekers and for the true ilocanos, they have fried ants, deer tapa to name a few. My favorite dishes are the bagnet and the poqui poqui.
Personally when I am visiting a certain place I eat their own local food, my idea is of course to spend my vacation at the most of it. It goes all with the package. When you're in Vigan try to dine in one of the restro located in some of the Heritage houses. They offer the best local food in town. Also with the ambience of the old house, that can make you feel you were in the Spanish era. Aside from fine dinning, they say, youre vacation wont be worth if you cant have a bite of their Empanada, so you better have a grab of it at the nearest turo-turo right across the street.
Favorite Dish: I forgot the local name of the food, actually I also forgot the taste of it. I better get back there :)
This hotel is pretty close to everything- Plaza Burgos, Vigan Cathedral, fast food centers, and...more
