It is not ony a zoo- Chavit has built a chapel so travelers can offer thanksgiving prayers for a safe trip before entering the compound. Aside from interacting with Chavit's animal friends, you will also be delighted to rest and ponder in the meditation garden, bask in the butterfly sanctuary which has many rare, colorful species that sometimes perch on your head or shoulder, delight in Chavit's collection of orchids, curiously examine his yellow submarine used in treasure hunting, and much more. Vigan is the only planned Spanish colonial city in Asia. Gov. Deogracias Savellano proudly had the diorama of the world's landmarks made so we, Filipinos, begin to appreciate how much a priceless treasure, particularly the Heritage Village, is in our midst.
See pictures for samples of the diorama - the Eiffel Tower in Paris, St. Basil's Basilica in Moscow and the Big Ben in London. The Diorama is located at Plaza Salcedo across the provincial capitol building.
We usually see colorful end-products of the loom. Each region or sometimes tribes usually has a traditional design, produced and variated thru time. However, its more complicated when one watches actual weaving on the loom. Even more complicated to color-dye then arrange the threads, then thread the loom.
Lola Lourdes demonstrated it for me. She doesn't weave too much anymore due to old age but she was so sweet and generous to offer.
Watch loom weaving to better appreciate that these products are not just blankets, runners, placemats, rugs, etc ... These are someone else's work of art.

My hubby and I just took a tricycle ride from the city. Although without a private transpo you'll have to wait for the next tricycle ride back to the city for a couple of minutes.
No entrance fee. You even get a free DVD of Chavit singsons story.
Try chit-chatting with the helpers to get the latest gossip and stories about the owner.
It features a mini zoo, a skeet shooting range, and free palomino rides.
At the start of our Heritage Village exploration, I was so pleased to see this cd player found at souvenir store of the Aniceto Mansion Tourist Inn & Restaurant. It's a music player of the moderns times with the design of a music player back in the old times.
there are many carinderias on the side entrance of baluarte. Better try "Pinanglaw" it is like Nilagang Goto that i tasted in Batangas. Yummy. just ask for the plain one (does not have bitter taste). Small order costs P20 while large one is P30.
