See how wood carving is done by the experts!

Just walk around town to catch the artisans fashion beautiful things out of wood - large religious images to small intricate pieces. They skillfully remove the unwanted pieces of wood, undistracted even by our proximity and were very gracious in answering our questions. :)

Paete Chursh is aka St. James The Apostle Church. It was built in the early Spanish period. Like most old churches in the Philippines, this church also has an elaborate retablo. The religious images in this church were carved by the residents themselves.
