by machomikemd Written Mar 3, 2015

It is easily one of the more popular Fast Casual Chinese Restaurant in the city that caters to both Chinese Filipinos and Filipinos Alike and the prices here are on the Easy side since they don't serve the Chinese Lauriat Meals like in fine dining chinese restaurants. They have a wide selection of fast chinese cantonese cuisine and Hong Kong Style assorted noodles, both the sauce type and the soup stock type (and also the dry type, where you just pour over the sauce to the dried noodles and then viola!) and have a large selection of dimsums and dumplings and rice bowl type of dishes. Their assorted chinese fried rice are a hit. They now have more than 40 branches around the country.

This is their branch at the Caltex Gas Stop in Santa Rosa City Section of the South Luzon Expressway (Slex)

Opens 10:00 am to 10:00 pm everyday

Favorite Dish: assorted dimsums and dumplings like the siomai at 80 pesos per order, hakaw at 100 pesos per order. Sauce type of noodles at 260 pesos for a large order. rice bowl type of meals like soy chicken at 160 pesos an order. fried rice like the yang chow fried rice at 190 pesos an order.

Favorite Dish: assorted dimsums and dumplings like the siomai at 100 pesos per order, hakaw at 120 pesos per order. Sauce type of noodles at 280 pesos for a large order (depending on the sauce and the toppings in it). rice bowl type of meals like soy chicken at 190 pesos an order. fried rice like the yang chow fried rice at 190 pesos an order and congee at 220 pesos an order.

Chicken Bonchon: Famous Korean Fried Chiken Joint

by machomikemd Updated Jul 31, 2014

the famous South Korean Double Fried Chicken which was popular in both south korea and in the New York Area of the United Stated is now popular in chicken crazy Philippines and they now expanded even to areas outside of the Capital City like here in Paseo De Santa Rosa.

the difference is the style here is the American Style, where only the wings and drumstick and other chicken pieces are available to be ordered unlike in South Korea where you can order the whole chicken. The spicy or sweet Korean Fried Chicken differs from good ole Southern Fried American Chicken in that being fried twice. This results in the chicken skin being crunchier and less greasy. They also offer other korean goodies like the beef bulgogi meal and fish tacos and kimchi.

Opens: 10:00 am to 10:00 pm everyday

Favorite Dish: you can order the regular sweet and garlick kind or the spicy kind, an order will cost 235 pesos for 6 pieces of wings or 3 pieces of drumstick small order to the large order of 790 pesos at 24 pieces of chicken wings or 12 pieces of drumsticks. The south korean staple, Glass noodles costs 120 pesos an order and their iced tea at 50 pesos an order.

this is their branch at the big suburb of Solenad 2 in Nuvali, Santa Rosa City

One of the Popular Locally Owned Tex Mex Fast Food Chain is the Army Navy- Burgers + Burrito which is a relative newbie in the mexican and tex-mex fast food scene at it was founded only in 2009 but now has more than 35 branches around the Metro Manila Area and around the Philipines! the restaurant has a military barracks type of ambiance where the restaurant is built like a galvanized iron lke quonset hut and set up with a few tables and chairs inside and outside the fast food area. the area is a typical fast food joint but there are no waiters as you order at the counter and then wait for your number to be called and have your meal after a few minutes as they cook their meals from scratch.

opens: 10:00 am to 10:00 pm, everyday

Favorite Dish: they have a modest selection of meals like the bully roy burger which are priced 160 pesos for 1 patty and 200 pesos for 2 patties and 240 pesos for 3 patties. Humongous Breakfast Burritos with topping such as carne asada and longganisa at 165 to 195 pesos an order, soft and crunchy tacos at 90 to 160 pesos for single and double; starving sailort 12 inch sandwich at 235 pesos an order, fearless fried chicken at 175 pesos with rice included and a lot more. they special drink is the Libertea iced tea at 75 pesos for a large order.

Bo's Coffee: Big Local Coffee Chain

by machomikemd Written Apr 5, 2013

    1.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

BO's COFFEE: Local Coffee House Makes it BIG!

Bo's Coffee was started in davao city by Steve Benitez, an expat pinoy from the United States in 1994, when He noticed that most filipinos still drink mostly instant coffee, instead of the various brews available abroad. At that time there were Local Coffee Shops just starting like Bo's, Figaro, Coffee Experience, Coffee Beanery and there was no STARBUCKS!, it only arrived in the philippines in 1998. Bo's Coffee then just zoomed into awareness mostly by word of mouth that eventually, it began opening coffee houses in the capital Metro Manila. Like any typical coffee houses, Bo's Coffee serves a dizzying array of hot and cold specialty coffees like expresso, cappucino, their trademark Froccino (Copied from the Frappucino of Starbucks!), Freeze Ice Blended Drinks and off course, the most expensive coffee in the world, the Coffee ALAMID! (or Coffee Luwak in Indonesia) made from excreted coffee beans by CIVET CATS. It is more expensive than Ethiopian Sidamo, Arabian Sanani, Hawaiian Kona, Columbian Supremo, etc.

They have over 60 stores throughout the Philippines, This beranch is at Solenad 2 in Nuvali, Santa Rosa City.

Opens: 7:00 am to 10:00 pm everyday

Favorite Dish: Froccino Iced Coffee was a good choice since I like cold coffee but the best was Coffee ALAMID, wherein it cost 280 pesos for a 4 ounce cup! (but it was worth it) however, due to the prevalence of civet cats in Vietnam, their weasel coffee is just about 70 pesos a cup there! You must drink it as is! to savor the strong flavor (don't add sugar or cream!) The Panini was ok but average, the pasta was above average. They also have brewed Iced Teas with different flavors at 130 pesos for a large order.

Santa Rosa Country Market Food Strip: Sizzling Freshies

by nimato Updated Apr 23, 2008

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

The food strip is composed of some turo-turo style eateries. However its primary pull comes from their fresh fishes and meats served in sizzling plates. A plate of a sizzling dish can satisfy two persons. Affordable, the place has become the cafeteria for many people working at nearby Technopark, a mammoth industrial complex. Blue Corner, the cornermost eatery at the back attracts the most customers and is usually packed during lunch/dinner hours.

Favorite Dish: Sizzling Tuna (P120), Sizzling Blue Marlin (P120), Sizzling Squid (P120), Sizzling Sisig (P120), Chopsuey (P60)

Kanin Club: We loved everything that we ordered!

by cruelsan Written Mar 9, 2008

Kanin Club has a Spanish Era feel to it - with the glass-stained windows and capizes around.

We ordered the following for lunch:
    1. Loaded Fried Rice
    2. Aligue Rice
    3. Crispy Pork Binagoongan
    4. Tapa ni Ana
    5. Calderetang Nueva
    6. Sinigang na Tadyang na Baka
    7. Binukadkad na Tilapia
    8. Camaron Rebosado
    9. Spicy Tahong
    10. Kare Kare
(I might have missed a dish or two)

...and WE LOVED EVERYTHING! There was almost nothing left! We even tried their KC Turon ala mode - a very interesting twist to the classic dessert turon - even if we knew we were having our desserts at Cafe Breton!

And it was CHEAP too! I believe the bill only came out to about P4,800.00 when we ordered 2-3 servings for each dish (approx. 25 orders in total)! Not bad at all huh? :)

They open at 11am. Do come early especially on weekends as the place gets full instantly. No reservations accepted.

Favorite Dish: My favorite dishes are:
    1. Camaron REbosado
    2. Spicy Tahong
    3. Tapa ni Ana
