    Plant Nursery Cultivated with Hardwork

by isolatedpawn Updated Sep 26, 2013

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Victoria is known as the fruit basket of Oriental Mindoro, thanks to the hardworking people of the town like Mr. Escala. We visited his nursery to buy Longkong a variety of Lanzones fruit for our farm. We bought 20 pcs of Longkong @ $1.75 each. He confided that he started from rags to riches but thru hardwork he and her wife was able to send his children to college. Among the plants for sale are Rambutan, Durian, Calamansi, Langka (Jackfruit), Marang, Mangosteen, Cacao, Carabao Mango etc...His major clients are government agencies. Many more plants can be found in his hectares of land.

Victoria - Fruit basket of Oriental Mindoro

Victoria is the Fruit basket of the province. A cornucopia of harvests such as sweet and succulent Rambutan and Lanzones, along with Durian, Marang (Uloy) and ever- favorite Citrus - all from the town's rich slopesand fertile plains. With a trove of mineral deposits, water springs and mountain lakes, Victoria is one promising venture...an equisite jewel in this hidden cove of treasures.

Victoria, is one of the towns in Oriental Mindoro. It is less than 1 hour travel from Calapan City by Van, car or Jeepney. Cost of transportation is $1.50.

    Bamboo Cove

    by sleepygirl25 Written Feb 20, 2006

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of White Beach, Puerto Galera or Sabang, then this place is for you. Its a secluded beach, very accomodating owners and live corals. Its as if you're transported into a place where time is not of the essence. This is the place where you should go if you want to relax.

hiking is very tiring but very fun...

When you go to this place, you have to hike to see this secluded area. You'll find thrill climbing over big rocks and blazing narrow trails. Your tiredness will go away when you see the crystal clear water pouring down from the Mountain. The stream is a bit cold but that was welcome after the long walk. Most of the tourist does not know about the place. Only the residents can point out this place to you. You will enjoy the privacy of this area.
