An excellent restaurant with great food, quiet surroundings, right on the waterfront with a very friendly owner "Patrice".
This restaurant is actually in Puerto Galera, not Sabang like many of the others listed. It has a good selection on the menu, including many European dishes and filipino dishes.
Great for a latte and a chocolate croissant in the morning while reading the paper or watching the world go by...
It costs a little more than some of the other restaurants but it is well worth it especially as you get a nice little serving of terrine (pate) for free too.
Favorite Dish: My favourite dish has to be the Brazilian steak I think, although it's a close run thing with the caesar salad and blue marlin. It comes with mini roast potatoes and is absolutely delicious, cooked only the way the french can cook a steak - to perfection!
Luca's is the only Italian restaurant in Talipanan. Owned by an Italian (duh!), we had our dinner here after some boulder hike and beach soak. We initially ordered the seafood marinara. It was a huge serving! I was totally full even before our Luca's signature pizza arrived (which is also huge!).
Favorite Dish: Seafood Marinara pasta!
We arrived at Talipanan before lunch time. We immediately headed to the nearest open resto (Mengie's, just beside our place heehee) We were greeted by a big smiling lady who immediately talked to us in English. We had Chicken Teriyaki and Chicken Adobo.
Chicken Adobo is OK, but the Chicken Teriyaki was awesome! I highly recommend that food when you visit Mengie's :-)
Favorite Dish: Chicken Teriyaki!
It's a small resto and bar at Muelle, owned by a funny and friendly Australian guy John Dawson. They serve fish and chips, chix n chips and of course, liquor. Inside, there are high chairs and tables, swivel chairs and a small bar and you can also find things that are pirate-related. We really loved the way they served beer - with stubbie coolers! Check out the pics!
Favorite Dish: The fish and chips! At first, I thought it was quite expensive for something that will not fill me up ( I am a rice person). But it was satisfying ( and great with beer, too!)- making it worth the money.
This is a small Italian Resto/bar at Muelle Port. They serve thin crust pizza with choice for vegetarians and meat lovers alike! Prices are modest, not too pricey. They also serve wine and beer and cocktails. The waitresses were also friendly.
Favorite Dish: We tried the pepperoni pizza -drizzled it with olive oil - and it was good! Also best with beer!
There's a glass window in the bakery where you can see the bakers at work. I was pretty surprised to see a bakery with this concept on the island.
Favorite Dish: All the pastries that my friends and i tried were good. I can't remember what i had but it's a local pork bun.
This place has its style and class. The food here are quite expensive but its worth it. Here you can create your own pizza.
Favorite Dish: sweet and sour fish ( lapu-lapu) or grouper. try this and you will not be disappointed.
Fernando's Seaside Cafe menu offers a lot, if you want american or continental breakfast they have it, which will only cost about 100 pesos, for lunch they offer seafood like squid, fish. For 200 per person you will definitely satisfy your hunger! The whole strech of white beach has a lot of local resto which almost has the same menu.
We ate at Lenly's for lunch. It's a very good choice because we were there the night before for dinner and the servings were big. Even if you ordered for a rice topping, they will separate the rice from the viand and the viand can be shared among yourselves.
We also ate at Fernando's upon docking. And it's a huge mistake. Servings were small. The chicken kebab was half-cooked. Although their free soup was unlimited. The food was really not palatable.
Favorite Dish: chicken/ pork cordon bleu, spaghetti, soup and others.
one of the better restaurants in white beach, ambiance and crowd-wise.
Favorite Dish: dreamwave's special seafood rice!
the kebab's good, too. but my friends say the ones being grilled on beachfront stall's are much better. but if ever you do try the kebab in this restaurant, chicken tastes better than pork but pork has no bones unlike chicken.
The restaurant's food was really good. We ordered the Sizzling Cheezy Squid P210 and garlic rice P20/cup. It was enough for my boyfriend and I. We also tried the Four Seasons Shake P95. We really loved the squid; a bit expensive, but worth it! The restaurant's look is pretty... definitely better and more upscale than the other restaurants and food places in White Beach. It also has a pleasant ambience, and has a nice view of the sea. The service was excellent; they really made you feel at home.
Favorite Dish: Sizzling Cheezy Squid P210 - squid stuffed with cheese, onions and tomatoes in a sizzling platter! So yummy!
A place where you can relax in the early evening. The huge round bar is a good place to sit with a good drink and talk with other guests or with the bartenders who might challenge you some cork games or a round of billiard.
The foods was really great and one thing i like is that the orders doesnt take long!the place is clean and quite and you can feel the fresh air coming from the ocean!
We were guided to Hemingway's on Sabang beach by out Lonely Planet Guide, that said it was the best restaurant in Puerto Galera. We weren't dissapointed as we had a lovely meal - mostly Caribbean, but with great Spanish Tapas to start.
The ambience is very relaxed with soft lighting and lovely views over the sea. Soft Spanish music playing in the background.
Favorite Dish: I had the mussels to start - fresh from the tank with white wine sauce. Great with fresh French bread. My wife opted for Spanish meatballs with an usual dipping sauce from the Canary Islands - lots of garlic and paprika.
We both had the same main course. Fresh black fish baked in banana leaves with black squid ink rice and a mango salsa. Absolutely delicious. It made a refreshing change from all the other restaurants in the area which seem to serve exactly the same 'international' food.
Their dishes are pretty much the same as the other restaurants in White Beach Puerto Galera, what made us stay there is service they gave us eventhough we haven't told them we're really going to eat at their resto. I asked the owner (I think he's Paul) the size difference of the Grilled Liempo between the Grilled Porkchop, there are only 2 of us plus our baby who will eat so we wouldn't want to other too much and he gladly called his nephew to assist us. The owner's nephew (I forgot his name though) is very accomodating and he even offered to take our picture after we finished our meal.
Favorite Dish: We ordered the Grilled Liempo (Php110) Plain Rice (Php20 each) and Mango Shakes (Php40 each), our total bill is Php 230 and we left a Php20 tip.
The best meal we had during our 9 days on the island. Even though we had two power cuts during the meal preparation it still came out well cooked and presented. All of our party enjoyed their food (6 adults 2 kids) and it was very good value for money
Favorite Dish: All of the ones we had were very good
