Parkway Mini-Mart: Snacks? Bottled Water? Ice Cream? Shampoo?
sherleh profile photo
sherleh 35 reviews

It may not be 7-11 or Mini Stop but this is perfect just in case you find bottled water at the hotel too expensive (you can buy the 5 liter ones, but better buy one when you reach the Batangas Pier) or you're craving for some ice cream or junk food or forgot to bring your shampoo or worse, sunblock! There's another mini-mart which closes a bit late at the Muelle Port, right next to the restaurants/bars there.

White Beach Tiangges: Forgot Your Beachwear? Souvenirs?
sherleh profile photo

3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

sherleh 35 reviews

There are a lot of shops at White Beach that sell beachwear, flip-flops, toys for making sandcastles, inflatables, souvenir shirts and items, Mangyan woven bags and baskets, fancy jewelry, pearls and the colorful branklets (bracelet/anklets). The basic branklets are sold at 10 pesos for a bunch of three. Refrigerator magnets are sold @ 100 pesos for 3 pieces. Some special colorful bracelets are sold at 10 to 15 pieces each.

What to buy: The branklets! The "Puerto Galera" shirts for kids and adults!

What to pay: Store owners can give you a discount when you get three or more items. Don't forget to haggle!

beach strip: Galera Shirts (for guys and gals)
icoy profile photo

3 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

icoy 34 reviews

The shirt shops abound on the beach strip. :)

What to buy: I usually buy souvenir shirts from the places I've been to. And Puerto Galera is no different. It's my second time on the island and only a few new designs have come out.

Depending on the shirt size, these can cost from Php90-120 per piece. I tried to haggle but they won't budge. :) They gave me and my fiancee a free friendship bracelet for every shirt that we bought. I also bought one pair of surfing shorts (hey, that doesn't mean I surf...) for Php120 a pair.

Other items sold on the beach are necklaces, anklets, bracelets. Sarongs, too!

What to pay: Average of Php100 per shirt (~$2), Php120 (~$2.50) per pair of shorts (for both men's and ladies).

Their shirts are Php20-50 cheaper than the one we saw on the other side of White Beach.

What to buy: If you're looking for souvenirs, buy the shirts and shorts that have the phrases "White Beach" or "Puerto Galera" prints on them. Some of their sarongs, pants, swimsuits can be seen in the city.

What to pay: Php 60 for kids shirts
Php 130 for adult sized shirts

Shops in White Beach, Puerto Galera: Shopping till dropping!

What to buy: ~~They have very cheap souvenir T-SHIRTS around P 100 ($ 1) for adults and P 80 for kids with good fabric. My tip is to HAGGLE and CANVASS first which stall has the best designs and nicest seller! :) They usually give us free 2 thread anklets for every shirt.
~~The stalls in the island also has very affordable sarongs (cover-ups) from around P 120 ($ 1.20) Tie dyes and then P 180 ($ 3) for the white or black. The tie dyes usually smear other fabric with your first wash so make sure you wash it first before you use it or else you can say goodbye to your favorite bikini! :)
~~I don't know if it's a trend but yes, all of them offers crocheted bikinis and cover ups! :)
~~Be drowned in thousands of accessories being sold in the area! And as I always say~~haggle! haggle! haggle! (and canvass too!) :)
