The familiar smell of "tupig" being grilled led me to this stall at our bus pitstop in NE. I didn't know NE also had "tupig", as I usually smell/see/eat them only in Pangasinan. It was a rare chance to try NE's version of "tupig".
What to buy: "Tupig": it is a concoction of grated young coconut, rice, coconut milk and sweetener (usually "panucha") carefully wrapped in young banana leaves, then grilled over live coal.
"Katuray" flowers: these flowers of a medicinal tree are mixed with soup dishes or prepared into a decoction (as anti-hypertension herbal tea)
"Suha": native pomelo, known for it unique tartness with sweet aftertaste
What to pay: P10 for 3 pcs of "tupig"
