Caramay Off The Beaten Path

  • by korikong Written Aug 16, 2009

ON mount Caramay there are still a few hundered members of the bataktribe living. People livingin the small village caramay are happy to act as a touristguide, for about 400 pesos. The foothpath to the bataktribe starts just besides the Catholic church in Caramay. The hiking takes at least 2 hours or more, en you have to cross more the 6 small rivers. Make sure that you bring enough water and food because there are no stores along the foothpath to the Bataks. The Mondragonstore along the highway in Caramay is the nearest place to buy food and drinks for the hiking.
