Visit Cuyo Fort in the town of Cuyo on Cuyo Island. Cuyo used to be the capital of Palawan and the oldest too. It was the Spanish who built the fort in 1680 but has been added to since then, and still has working canons pointed towards the sea that are fired now and again during festivals. It is the oldest fort in the country with walls 10 m high and 2 m thick.
