    St. Paul Subterranean River

by ILovePalawan Written Jul 24, 2012

We booked a travel package for our Underground River trip. As first timers it will be hard for us to go to underground river by ourselves so what we did is to get a tour in our lodging place. Its a very educational trip knowing that there are stalagmites and stalactites inside the cave. We stop by to other tourist destination like the View-deck, Sabang Beach- this is where we had our lunch and takes us a long time waiting for a ferry boat so we can get to the Under ground River, maybe due to numerous visitors and permit.

    Palawan Vacay 2010

by ILovePalawan Written Jul 22, 2012

The best vacation ever in my life. Puerto Princesa, Palawan indeed is the cleanest or one of the cleanest city in the Philippines. I love the white beaches in Alimanguan, San Vicente Palawan. Second, Underground River is worth visiting, we've been here before it was included in the Seven Wonders.

by mishgreek Written May 17, 2012

Pristine Beach is the best one for swimming in Puerto Princesa. Its one of the few beaches around the city that"s why during holidays & weekends its full of Pinoys(slang for Filipinos). Its just walking distance from the airport, but if you dont like walking just grab a motorcycle(pedicad) and tell the driver to Pristine Beach.

    The most beautiful Sunset

by bankalolos Written Apr 26, 2007

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

I recommend anyone and everyone to go to Puerto Aventura Beach Resort and experience the Sunset from the sandbar. We had to trek to get there, approx.30minutes, but, boy was it worth it. I couldn't believe just how amazing mother nature is. We sat on the sand bar until the sun had completely gone down and then the owner called for a boat to pick us up and take us back to shore.
I will never forget this vacation.

    Swimming at Estrella Falls

by bankalolos Written Apr 26, 2007

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Estrella Falls is such a beautiful peaceful place to go to just submerse yourself in the water and hear the falls. The water is cold but invigorating.
I wasn't able to completely explore the entire area as I was with older people, but I can't wait to go back and really see its entirety.

    Crocodile Farm

by yellowbell Updated Aug 29, 2005

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Crocodile Farm was a breeding and research institute for crocs. I was only able to view the longest crocodile captured in Philippine swamps, now only skin and bones , because it was feeding time and I did not want to wait any longer in the noonday heat of April.

    Admission is free
    1 :30 to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday,
    9:00 a.m. to 12:00 nn, and 1 :00 - 5:00 p.m. Saturdays.

Enroute to St. Paul Subterranean River, we travelled via an outrigger boat in Sabang. Don the orange life vests and take in some fresh air.

Take a dip in the deserted Sabang Beach on your way back from St. Paul Subterranean River!

    St. Paul's Subterranean River

by yellowbell Updated Aug 19, 2005

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

This UNESCO World Heritage Site (1999) is one of the longest navigable underground rivers in the world.

A short banca ride in a torquoise blue river will bring you inside cathedral-like caverns and domes. The boatman holds up the flashlight so you can marvel at those stalactites (calcium carbonate deposits that hang from the roof of caves) and stalagmites (those the grow upward from the ground). Ah, it's nature's sculptures at its best!

Don't panic as you'd see bats adorning the cave's roof.

What are you waiting for? Don your orange life vest, and make sure your camera can take pictures even in dark conditions. Better yet bring a powerful flashlight yourself.

This normally takes place in the 3rd week of April where many restaurants prepare special seafood straight from the sea. There are a few cultural shows too.
