Hardin sa Paraiso: Grilled Food in Paradise

by semper.max

On our way to San Fabian, we decided to use the Urdaneta-Manaoag Road. Situated along the road is Hardin sa Paraiso (Garden in Paradise). It looks very inconspicuous from the outside but upon entering the restaurant though, it was clear that it has a different setup than the other restaurants in Pangasinan. It has a delightful ambiance truly making you feel that you are in a "garden in paradise". You'd think that the whole restaurant was designed to provide a photoshoot opportunity. The food is reasonably priced and they are offering grilled samplers which was what we ordered to be able to taste all their grilled food. As you eat, music is provided by live performers singing anything you can think of from any genre. You can even sing with them and request songs that you want to hear. The best part is the staff is particularly friendly and courteous. Their grilled samplers could either be...

GeoFarm Eco Park: GMO-free dining!

by juiCybeaR

A dome-shaped resto that makes good use of fresh air from the surrounding EcoPark. Step into the place and you know you're going to get unadulterated food. (Or of course, in our interpretation that would be weird food). They serve pasta and salads, and other fares as well. All of these without the GMOs we've practically learned to live with. Their banana crepe is fab! I'm not particularly fond of the banana filling (the mango crepe must be way better, but for some reason this was the desert included in our meal package [we visited the GeoFarm for two days and a trip to this EcoPark was made before heading back to the Metro]), but syrup tasted really nice...So overall I liked it! They used lemon grass syrup, and I bought a big bottle of it (Php 250-300) to bring home.I liked the pasta too. And the salad. Though it isn't for picky eaters, even less for meat-lovers. This is not the place...

A typical roadside vendor.: Feeling Adventurous

by jvsabas

Along the backroads food was aplenty. Youcan find restaurants like this one all along the roads. These men were barbecuing catfish on a stick. To get a sense of how close the restaurant was to the road, I took the picture from inside our jeepney as we were passing. I wasn't confident enough to try the fish. Specially considering that catfish tend to be bottom feeders. I didn't want to chance it.
