BALAW BALAW RESTAURANT: Dont Miss the Exotic Food
Alighted in front of Angono Public Market and took a tricycle to Balaw Balaw Restaurant, a famous restaurant in the area serving exotic foods
Balaw Balaw is a native sauce made from fermented shrimps, red rice and a porridgy base, I tasted it and truly delicious.
Balaw balaw restaurant have various artsy things on display and art museum on the second floor.
One block away from Balaw Balaw restaurant is the Nemiranda (Nemesio Miranda) Arthouse café and restaurant.

Scrapyard Restaurant: Good food at reasonable price
No they don't sell scrap food here as the name implies. There are quite a number of local restaurants here in Angono but I took it to write this as my first review because my wife manages this restaurant and she will kill me if I dont do a nice review here.
Seriously, Scrapyard offers good food at reasonble price. They also have live bands on weekends and special occasions. They also have this local fastfood-cum-takeout counter outside, the Minalot goto and tapsilog.
Its fairly a good restaurant with a lesser name (I tried influencing her to change the name).
Favorite Dish: Since Itik (duck) is a popular delicacy in Angono- I would put here their version of fried itik as one of the best- because it is cooked using fresher oil than the ones you buy on fried itik stands.
I also like their sisig, hototay soup.
Balaw-balaw: Exotic Foods
One way to make a name is to be different and that is what Balaw-balaw did. Its one of the most famous restaurant in Angono because its more of cusine curio shop. It sells exotic foods- like snakes, wild boar or deer meat, beetle pupa (like big worms) etc. You order them not because you like it- but because you're curious. The name balaw-balaw itself is a local dish or sauce (not sure how to qualify it)- its more popularly known as a version of a "buro" or "binuro." The restaurant also offers other local dishes which I would say is okay and some of them reasonably priced.
The place also doubles as an art gallery as the owner is one of the known local artist- Vocalan Perdigon.
Favorite Dish: The "bilao" - sampler because its cheap and varied- more of -for a barkada feast.

Nemiranda: Spoonful of art
Nemiranda is the name of the owner of the restaurant who is a national artist - Nemesio Miranda. The restaurant is also his art gallery.
Favorite Dish: Try the salo-salo which consist of talong, dynamite, chicken, porkchop, etc. for only Php 800 and is good for 4-5 people. Also try the pritong itik if you are brave enough to try exotic food! :)
