Aruba Bar & Restaurant: One of the Bars in Metrowalk

by machomikemd Updated Nov 4, 2014

    1.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

one of the many bars cum restaurants lining the main square of Metrowalk and facing the flat garden where the famous live band nightly gigs are done. The Aruba Bar and Restaurant is a favorite of the middle aged set in the Complex. The Bar cum Restaurant opens late at 5:00 pm up to the dawn hours of 4:00 am everyday. Besides having their own al fresco dining cum drinking area outside so that you can watch the live bands, they also have a well stocked bar with a small dance floor and their own mini stage where they have their nightly live bands perform on a smaller scale.

They have your typical large lists of local beers and some international ones and 2 pages of cocktails plus other liqours and spirits. they have a large selection of international menu list and assorted bar chows like calamares, nachos fritos, chicken lollipops, hamburgers and fries and a lot more.

local beers cost 80 pesos and more and cocktails at 150 pesos and more.

by machomikemd Updated Aug 18, 2014

    1.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

the most popular nite spot in the ortigas complex spanning mandaluyong, pasig and quezon city areas. it has tons of bars. nite spots, restaurants, coffee shops and shopping areas. Metrowalk is located on a 5,000 square metre parcel of land at the junction of Ortigas and Meralco Avenues in the Ortigas Center and there is a separate Metrotent nearby which is used for conventions, car shows and trade fairs (I have a separate tip for it). Metrowalk is the famous Dining and Nitespot Activity for the Mid Range Budget Set of the following Cities as this area is not as upscale as Shangrila Mall or The Podium Nearby.

Most of the Restaurants and Bars and Dining areas here are open fro, 10:00 am to 2:00 am everyday.

    Overnight Street Food: Banchetto

    by michelle.jaguimit Written Jul 22, 2010

This only happens once a week, every saturday 12:00 midnight. Along Emerald Avenue, the road infront of Strata, is close because Banchetto will be set up.
Call Center agents feast on the varieties of foods offered at the overnight food stalls. Everyone is excited to buy their Lunch (call center's break at night or mid morning) on Saturday before the sunlight hits the ground.
You will see from afar a smoke coming from the Banchetto Tent, not to worry there is no fire, its just the smoke from the IHAW-IHAW stalls.
My officemates and I used to buy inihaw na liempo (75php with slices of tomato and plain rice), (50php for half liempo) with a can of coke for our Lunch.
There is also 3 for 100 desserts that you can mix and match. (cakes, chips, cookies etc) and if your lucky there's 4 for 100.
Street foods such as fried chicken skin, qwek2x, fried squid.. (20php on small plastic cup)
Ihaw-Ihaw pork bbq (20-25php) dugo, IUD, isaw, tenga ng baboy (pig's ear known for sisig).

I'm getting hungry now. Well, tomorrow will be Banchetto Day! Ano kaya kakainin ko bukas?
    Sisig rice or Lechon Kawali?
    See you there!

Dress Code: No dresscode just go there with alot of money and empty stomach.
