Figaro Coffee: hangout in Bonifacio High Street

by machomikemd Updated Aug 21, 2014

local coffee house chain and it's branch at the bonifacio high street which is a popular nitespot.

Figaro is one of the Pioneers of the Philippines Local Coffee Scene in the late 1980's as filipinos were mostly used to the instant coffee brands, rather than having fresh brew of different Blends of Coffee, both Iced and Hot Varieties. This local chain has stood the test of time and the competition from the other famous Local Coffee Chain Bo's Coffee and international Coffe Jaggernauts like Starbucks, Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, Seattle's Best Coffee, etc. They now have more than 30 branches across the country and even have franchises in Coffee Crazy Malaysia, China, Saudi Arabia and Papua New Guinea.

They have assorted coffee blends mostly sourced from local arabica beans and robusta beans and iced coffee blends like Iced Latte or Iced Mocha cost 120 pesos a medium cup here (no large cups available)

This is their branch at the Bonifacio High Street in Fort Bonifacio Global City which is a popular hangout and nite spot and it offers free wifi too.

Opens: 7:00 am to 12:00 am everyday

Kasbah: Morrocan Cuisine, Lounge and Shisha Bar

by machomikemd Written Nov 4, 2013

i have included this moroccan restaurant cum lounge cum shisha bar as it is more famous as a nitespot in the Fort Strip Area of the Bonifacio Global City. Kasbah is a moroccan restaurant that started in boracay beach in Aklan Province and became popular and they now have this branch at the formerly red kimono japanese restaurant in the Fort Strip. It is owned by a moroccan expatriate and they offer authentic moroccan and arabic dishes, often cooked in the Moroccan Claypot, the tangine, but we were here to partake of the Shisha (also known as hookah) as they have a hookah lounge at the outside of the restaurant for guests too.

hookah flavors are availalbe in many kinds like bubble gum, lemon, mint, strawberry and more and cost 380 pesos for a session (usally lasting for 2 hours). cocktail drinks start at 250 pesos and above per order. local beers at 120 pesos an order and alco-pops like vodka cruiser at 150 pesos an order.

the high end version of the dencio's chain of restaurants (dencio's, pugad baboy by dencio's and kabisera by Dencio's. all part of the Pancake House Food Group, I have included this in my nightlife tips as this native filipino comfort food restaurant is known more as a night spot as it has an enclosed air conditioned area for smokers and alcoholic drinkers.

They have the obligatory filipino comfort foods from regional filipino cuisines which can also double as bar chow like crispy pata, inihaw na baboy, pork barbecue, grilled fishes, crispy leaves and more.

their bar area at the enlcosed portion is ideal for a night of booze and smoking as they have a relatively budget prices for the beers and cocktails as you only pay 120 pesos for a buy one take one San Miguel Beer, chilled below zero at the patented chiller. cocktails like mai tai, long island iced tea and tom collins start from 140 to 220 pesos and are also buy one take one from 9:00 pm to 12 midnight everyday.

The Fort Strip in the oldest Commercial Area of Fort Bonifacio which had it's first boom in late 1990's then bust and then was remodeled in 2004 and at present is undergroing a Boom again even if there are also new commercial areas mushrooming beside it like the bonifacio high street, serendra and market market. The place is packed with people even on weekdays since the area is home to a large expatriate community and large crowds of urban professionals and yuppies who party hard.

    Draft Gastropub: European Style Pub

by machomikemd Updated Mar 26, 2012

European Style Pub with a lively crowd and lots of european expatriates among the patrons hence the place is really authentic plus they have an international selection of beers like stella artois, chimay, hoogarden, tiger beer, Heineken, Sam Adams and more. Both the bottled and draft versions of beers but the price is expensive for Philippine Standards, comparable to the beer price in 5 star hotels. Average price of local beers like san miguel lite and pale pilsen at 150 pesos an order and for 1 glass of stella artois draft or beck's beer is 250 pesos an order. This is esily one of the more popular nite spots in the fort strip area as it it packed with people even on weekdays.

Bar chows are aplenty too and are mostly european stuff like assorted sausages and saurkraut at 400 pesos an order or German Pig Knuckles at 650 pesos an order.

Dress Code: smoking area both inside and outside of the pub so it can really get smoky inside the pub.

High Street: High Street at the Fort

by JaneCajuguiran Written Apr 2, 2007

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

This is the newest Night Spot in Metro Manila. Because it is just about 5 minutes away from Makati, this place at the Fort is very accessible by a mere taxi ride which would not cost you more than 60 php from Ayala.
