    Airsoft is Alive in Taytay

    by drunkenmaster4 Written Apr 1, 2009

Airsoft, which is fast becoming popular has arrived in taytay. There are two game sites, one is near San Beda campus in Taytay and the other is a CQB site beside the Manila East Hospital. There is also a store run by the popular motocross champion, Ernie Leongson near Siena College which is near Tropical Hut in Taytay. You can visit the store to get more information on the local airsoft community.

    Equipment: What else, airsoft guns.

    Surfing School

    by drunkenmaster4 Written Apr 1, 2009

Club Manila East boast of the first professionally organized surfing school held in an artificial wave pool. The group handling the facility is some sort of a "Philippine Surfing School ek ek" to that effect (note:they call themselves "The Philippine..."). According to them, its better to master the waves on an artificial pool as fresh water is more difficult so going to the real ones after your lesson will be easier.

    Equipment: Equipment can be rented.

    Clay Shooting what!?

    by drunkenmaster4 Written Apr 13, 2007

    2 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Richard Gomez, friend of the current mayor, Joric Gacula set up a clay shooting range (his sports flavor of the month). I think the name is Team Goma Shooting Range. I have'nt been there because I am not a gun or shooting fan (except the other kind). But I would take the opportunity to try it if given be. Anyways, I would just like to inform the public that yes, there is such a place in Taytay (or maybe in the Philippines- but of course I know Chavit also does this so something like this may also be in existence in Ilocos).

    Equipment: Gun whatelse?

    Fishing Fishing Lang

    by drunkenmaster4 Written Apr 13, 2007

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

During my younger years, me and my father walk the Bangiad- Villa Lolita road to touch the Laguna Lake (the only place where Taytay borders the lake). Now a "coastal road" joing Taytay and Angono via Floodway was constructed and aptly called the Taytay-Angono Coastal Road. During early morning weekends, its a surpise to see numerous men fishing (using fishing rod, not nets) and using air guns so I would tend to qualify them as sportsmen rather than fishermen. I believe this is a sport that can be cultivated as fishing is a popular sports that is also a recreation (relaxation).

Equipment: Air gun or fishing gear.

    Mountain Biking in Taytay?

    by drunkenmaster4 Updated Apr 13, 2007

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Yes there are mountain bike trails in Taytay. I think it was 2005 when the national downhill championships was held in Taytay but it was done in one of the subdivisions being constructed (Monteverde Royale Subdivision). But there are more "permanent" off road trails in Taytay particularly in the areas bordering Antipolo. You can see the potentials of the trails from Google Earth. To get more trail information, you can go to the bikeshop near NCBA, Haooh (not sure if I spelled in correctly). You can park you car there.

Equipment: Reliable mountain bike preferrably with at least front suspension.
