The Early Diver Gets More Dives!
When planning to go "Butanding" whale-shark watching, be at the jump-off point as early as possible for the following reasons. 1. The sea is calm and flat as an airstrip in the morning. 2. Lesser boats in the water means more chances to spot a butanding and interact with (Remember that 1boat/group only per butanding , first-come-first-dive). 3. Spare you from more damaging sunburn as the sun heats up more as noontime approaches. April 2006 Update: The Tourists Visitor Center (the jump-off base and the one that controls and regulates the Butanding Interaction Activity) opens at 730AM. Filling out registration forms, waivers and watching the orientation video in a total of 30 minutes - the first boat leaves by 8AM. The "Butanding" experience haunted me for quite a long time!
