    Why I fell in love
    4 more images

During the inland tour, we went to Alegre Beach Resort, Magpopongko Rock Pools, and Taktak Falls... The best was the Magpopongko Rock pools, which was one of the reasons why I fell inlove with Siargao. It is a natural pool that is "swimmable" during the low tide... Lots of fishes and corals, as if swimming inside an aquarium. There were rock formations, from which we'd jump from. We stayed there for more than an hour, swimming, snorkeling and jumping like kids.

    Naked Island
    4 more images

We were able o visit 3 islands in one day. They weer naked island, guyam island, and dako island. My friends even surfed in the middle of the ocean, between guyam and dako. My favorite is naked island, which was literally naked except for a hut in the middle.. no trees, no plants, just sand...
Dako Island is a bigger island. We had a picnic lunch there. Water is very clear and sand is white and fine. Guyam island is this cute circular island with trees in the middle. You can walk the entire island in 5 minutes. Nica place to stay, hangout and play around.

    Cabuntog Beach

This government owned beach resort will surely complete your tour in General Luna. Even if you are not staying in their resort, you can swim in their beach for free. Aside from their serence beach, they also offer good food and beer during lunchtime. =)

Tiktikan Lake is part of another Sohoton Tour together with Crystal Cave. Entrance fee is P10 per head. For boating, you have to pay P5. You can take the boat to the other side & be guided on foot inland. The lake is huge but we didn't stay long for the long trip back to General Luna. It's best to leave early to avoid the strong waves.

Taktak Falls is one of the recommended spot to tour around the island of Siargao. In my opinion, it is not worth of a visit coz of the poor maintenance of the area being dirty. This is also located at the opposite end of the island that requires more than 2 hours of land travel by car. The roads in Siargao needs improvement. It is better to skip this place.

    Sohoton Cove
    3 more images

Sohoton Cove requires 2 hours of pumpboat ride from General Luna in Siargao to be able to reach it but it is really worth it. I got to jump from high places to the deep water. It's really for the adventure lovers. Especially memorable are the stingless jellyfishes which you can swim with. They will get near you in the water. Imagine swimming with multiple jellyfishes! You have to come here during low tide for the pumpboat to be able to enter the cove. You can also visit the Bucas Grande islets, Tiktikan Lake, & Crystal Cave. Really beautiful! Just be careful about the weather cause you've got to cross very deep waters.

    Crystal Cave
    1 more image

Visiting Crystal Cave is part of another tour in Sohoton together with the Tiktikan Lake. You have to take the pumpboat during high tide to reach the shore where a path will take you to the cave. It's best to have a good hiking shoes coz the path is treacherous. Take a good flashlight coz it's pitch dark inside the cave. It's a pity that the crystal formation was darkened due to hand touches. I was a bit annoyed with the guide for taking only 1 poorly lighted flashlight with him for a group of 9 people!

General Luna now has Dune Buggy tours and rentals for those who dont like driving motorbikes. The tour lasted a little over two hours and there are 8 buggies and a lead UTV with a guide in it. The cost of the tour was 1400 peso for two people. The rental is where you go on your own was 300 pesos per hr, 3 hr minimum which is way cheaper than Boracay at 1500 per hour. They are located in front of Kawili Resort on the main road to Cloud 9

Pansukian Resort is the best resort in Siargao Island. It is very exclusive & is perfect for one seeking privacy & peace. It's like you're the only guest in the resort. The resort has very nice gardens & the architectural designs of the place are like those straight out of the magazines. The pool is just perfect as well as the beachfront with plenty of palms uniquely bent.

Magpopongko Pool Lagoon is unique. You must come here during low tide to be able to swim in the pool. The water is deep especially on the middle. It is very nice & I just love it. It is one of the reason why we must visit Siargao. It has very clear & pristine water with fishes swimming around you. It is so called Magpopongko cause of the rock formation near the pool. This is a must visit spot in Siargao.

Mamon Island is easily one of my favorite islands near Siargao. Nearby is La Janoza island, another popular island. Between these islands are corals perfect for snorkeling. I just love the beaches here which i consider one of the best in the country. The beauty of the place is just breathtaking. You have to travel for over an hour by pumpboat from General Luna to reach this place.

Dacu Island is easily my favorite in Siargao. In my opinion, it is better than Boracay which is crowded & commercialized. I love the emerald green color of the clear pristine water. The sand is powdery white. Sunset view is perfect. This is located just across General Luna in Siargao Island. I'll never get enough of this island.

Visiting Sohoton Cove is really memorable one for me. Imagine, swimming with countless stingless jellyfishes! They will really converge around you in the water like magnet. It's eerie coz you can feel them while swimming. I got to touch & hold them in the water. What an experience! Just with those jellyfishes, the long trip is well worth it.

Explore Suhoton Caves and get ready to jump!

    Jump!
    4 more images

It takes a lot of patience for you to reach this place. Me and my friends waited for 4 days before we finally had the chance to visit it. Why? It's because it will take 2-3 hours of boat ride from Gen Luna. If the weather is not good, better not take the risk. If the "bangkero" says, "it's not safe" then listen.

This place is a very nice way to end your visit it Siargao. After all the surfing, hiking, and island hopping, it's time for you to explore the caves and see the beauty of Suhoton Cave. Warning! If you don't have the guts to jump don't go to this place anymore.

    jumping off the cobo

Reminds a bit of sohoton but way easier to get to. Caob lagoon is located at the municipality of Del Carmen, about 10k past the airport. Its a hidden lagoon inside a small island that is only reachable with boat, and best during high tide. Inside the lagoon there is a huge cobo (philippino rest house) built that is for anyone to use, for a small fee of course. A perfect place to hang out for a day, cook some food, snorkel and so on.
