As the Christmas season is approaching , go on a road trip at night and visit the lifesize Belens (Nativity Scenes) along the way. PI celebrates the longest Christmas that started on the very 1st day of September and will last until the Feast of the 3 Wise Men.

Tarlac is the home province of the Cojuangco and Aquino families, most notable for producing democracy icons Ninoy and Cory Aquino.

Crater Lake on Mount Pinatubo
4 more images

Hire a local tour guide to take you on a five mile hike to the top of Mount Pinatubo. Mount Pinatubo is an active stratovolcano which has a beautiful crater lake formed at its mouth. The tour began with an 4-wheel drive off-road trek from town to the base of the mountain (which was an adventure in itself!). Once at the base, the five mile hike to the top of the volcano included going through rivers and streams, climbing rocks and going through jungles. Once at the top, we took a refreshing swim in the enormous and scenic crater lake and had a tasty Filipino picnic lunch. Hiking back down the mountain was almost as strenuous as trekking up, but all of the physical activity was definitely worth the experience at the top.

Pinatubo Spa Town

Upon getting back to the town proper from the exhausting climb, you may want to consider this relaxing activity.

Get a shiatsu massage for P500 (1 and a half hours)

Or have yourself buried in volcanic sand for P500 (30 minutes)
They say that the volcanic sand helps release toxins from your body. Plus it is good for arthritis and rheumatism.
We took this one because of its uniqueness. The sand was warm and had us sweat like hell.
It was a fabulous experience.
(i just couldn't help thinking how much profit they get from it! Imagine, you pay 500 bucks for having them collect sand and pour it on you! hehe) but in any case, it was worth it. we had a grand time.

Add-on : If you're not eager for their spa services, you can take a shower there for P100. Free soap, but you'll have to buy your own shampoo and conditioner. I think it's over-priced for just a bath. but then you won't have anywhere else to clean up, so might as well take a loooong shower to get your money's worth.

The trail

Take a trip to Capas, Tarlac. About 3- 4 hours from Manila: Van could cost about Php3000, plus gas +toll (van good for 10 people)

Board a 4x4 for an hour and a half : One 4x4 can transport 5 passengers, Php 3700 from town to jump-off, pay Php 50 per person for a reg fee

Trek the desert-like trail for about 40-50 minutes (the usual case) - we had to take a three-hour trail because the typical "skyway" trail was blocked

Experience the soothing lake at the crater. Bring your lunch, some snacks, lots of water, and swimming gear.

One of the most attractive In Isdaan are the colorful countless fishes, if you'll bring your kids here surely they will enjoy the fishes but be sure to wear them a life jacket before you enter inside and it is not safe to allow your kids to stroll the place alone they might be fall like the waitress told me about the kid fell down on the water without life jacket.

This place is really amazing, I can’t believe that there is wonderful
restaurant built on this province and now became a famous tourist spot because of its unique and nature atmosphere.

Travelers should be attracting this place because of the different kinds of giant statue and humanoid, When you enter inside you’ve seen the nipa huts floating on the 6 to 9 feet water, I enjoyed the place as well as their local native foods.

Elvis Look-A-Like

Aside from admiring the giant fishes and humanoid sculptures, kids can also feed the fish or ride a cart being pulled by a ram.

Be entertained while eating by the singing and dancing cooks or waiters or if you're lucky enough an Elvis Presley look-alike! Tip of at least P20 for these entertainers are encouraged.

Aside from eating and admiring the giant fishes and humanoid sculptures, you can also release your anger by throwing plates (blue china P45) or a broken TV set into their wall of fury with written words like:
