Hiking Necessities

by danaiskra

If you're going on a day trip, a regular backpack would suffice. The mountain is very weedy. Lots of tall grass on your way. It's best to wear light jogging pants and arm warmers to protect yourself from the clingy plants. Bring of course your basic first aid tools, and medicine for any special conditions you may have. Bring BAND AIDS! Do bring a tent if you have one. There's a changing room in the beach, but not well kept. and also, it's an open beach so better to have somewhere to keep your belongings in while you're frolicking in the water! Bring LOTS of water. For each person, around 2 liters of water. If you have a contact person there, such as Mang Alfring, you may arrange to have them bring your food and extra bottles of water via boat while you're hiking. In our case, he even agreed to bring us Coke. Ü ** The San Antonio Market is not open till around 4-4:30. If you arrive...

Bring Flashlights/Lamps & Bottled Water

by f8stop

There is no electricity in Anawangin so bring a lightsource for night-time use. Bottled water is also necessary since we can't be sure if the water from the pump is potable. Aside from sleeping materials, cooking equipment is also important if you do not plan to live by canned goods alone. You may bring your mobile phones but don't expect to use or charge their batteries in anawangin. There is no mobile signal there from any network. Signals are available only until Barangay Pundaquit.
