    Bayanihan Spirit

    Boatmen Helping Fellow-Boatman

"Bayanihan" spirit (helping each other) is still alive in Pundakit. I witnessed this when we returned to Pundakit from Anawangin Cove; upon seeing our banca about to dock in the beach area, "bankeros" called the attention of swimmers in the banca's route, then approached our banca to help us get off and wade safely to the shore, and when we finally alit, they helped our boatman bring the boat to the shore.

I witnessed the "bayanihan" spirit again when boatmen helped a fisherman pull his banca to the shore.

Early in the morning when you rise early from your bed it's a minutes of step you can see this scenes... fisher men were preparing their fishing equipment to go to the sea.

Fishing is the main source of income of barangay pundaquit , and also their boat would give them an extra income when visitors hired them to get an island hopping.
