History of Subic Bay
Favorite thing: The are of Subic used to be a Spanish naval port overtaken by Americans in 1899, occupied by the Japanese in World War II, and then became under American control in 1945 and finally developing into the largest oevrseas military base of the USA until 1991 during the pull-out.
We visited a friend who is living in the former base, and he bought one of the houses where American military personnel used to live. I remember going here as a young boy and playing with the kids of some of American friends then.
But after the eruption of Pinatubo and the Anerican pull-out, they created the Subic Bay Freeport where you can have duty-free shopping (entry and exit are controlled). The area also has 18-hole folf courses, beaches (windsurfing from June to October), a forest and two major wreck-diving locations.
New Years Fireworks!
Favorite thing: People went here to be one of the people watching fireworks and others are spending their New Year at the restaurants here. Especially those people who’s not originally from here. The place gives the people’s idea to spend their whole night here to be near and closed to watch the fireworks. However, the smoke covers the area they don’t mind it neither I. Everyone is slowly going back to each table and continue their party. Bring your camera and take a pictures of it. You dont need to zoom the camera just to be closer.
Fondest memory: Celebrating New Year with my sis and friend in this place were been able us to watch the fireworks at exact 12 midnight for the final count down. Lots of people in the bay watching of it too and all of the costumers in pier 1 leave their tables to watch it. Feel really great watching those fireworks above you, the spectacular color of it and the noisy sound makes you just gaze the show until it will finished.

Board Walk and Sunset
Favorite thing: We called this Board walk on the shore line in Subic bay, close of everything hotels, restaurants, casino, etc. You dont need to g to other place to stay and to be near at the sea. This place gives you the thing you need but just the point of views and sunset things. You can really have fun even just watching the sunset though, sitting in here watching the sunset goes down? its pretty cute. Well, you cant stop to amazed the sunset.
Fondest memory: Its quiet often to get here at afternoon like getting dark, though i do have class at afternoon but its really near of my school. At this time it was our Technology week, my classmates and i decided to go here to watch sunset before we back to school for the program. We was, ( are we still going or not?) coz its cloudy. But on our way riding taxi to Board walk it changed and when we get there some people were facing the sunset already. they might waiting for it too for sure. We walk around and took pictures then we just walk to ge at the school.

Favorite thing: If you are looking for a group trip or by two this Island is good for yah. Quite not that crowded and feel free to explore the whole Island riding their cute tourist kart. Go trekking the entire island, horsing, ocean sport, snorkeling typical island things to do. Visitors who go there and not staying for nights just to look around and go swimming they have cottages too for that. You can go fishing (big fish to catch). But you are not allowed to bring any beverage or food into the resort. No pets are allowed also(coz they have this cute cats around hahaha).
Fondest memory: Im having a great time staying here even though our other friends arean't able to come with us. We haven't tour the whole island and we haven't get into their swimming pool coz its under renovation. We sit out side of our room at evening and talking the island, since the island is quite at night we had this speaker and laptop to play music so its like we're having a disco night there after we eat dinner and watch the cultural show. So if ever you are goin to this Island just bring your friends and dont forget to bring any player so u guyz can go dancing outside of your room.

some History facts about SBMA
Favorite thing: Located northwest of Manila, Olongapo is where the huge US naval base, Subic, used to be stationed. In a controversial move, the Philippine Senate decided in 1992 not to extend the Military Base Agreement that had been in place since the end of WWII. Some historians claim that the handover of the base to the Philippine government was the true moment of independence from the US for the Philippines. After the handover, the transformation of the base into the Subic Bay Freeport became a national priority. The base was huge, with much of the area covered with virgin rainforest. The Americans put that to good use for survival training, while now it's open to sightseers. Subic Bay is a great area for divers, with 20 wrecks strewn across its floor. The highlight is the wreck of the USS New York, sunk in 1941 and lying at a depth of 27m (89ft). Olongapo is a two or three-hour bus rides from Manila, with Subic another 12km (8mi) by jeepney Short flights are also available.
Favorite thing: You can saw in this photo (I took this at night so PLS! bare with me) the Entering Boundary of Subic Bay Freeport... you have to pay little amount for thier facilities and etc... since they had 24 hours a day secutrity guard and police patrol.
