This depends on how long you plan to stay at the city... The longer your stay the bigger your luggage and bag, I suppose.Just make sure that you bring a little bag that you an tote along when you go island hopping and other activities. Make sure it is waterproof for most of the time you will be riding a boat. Light summer clothes are a must.Bring a light jacket also for the weather sometimes is a little bit unpredictable. An underwater camera is nice to have especially during snorkel time. Make sure that you always bring along a swimsuit just in case. You'll never know when you'll have the urge to take a dip and have a relaxing swim.

Mosquito Repellent and Sunblock!

by anliz99

Wear the lightest you have. It's quite hot here. Don't forget your mosquito repellent and sunblock! The place has plenty of mosquitos and malaria is a danger. Sunblock is essential if you're going swimming because you'll end up getting toasted :) Bring an underwater camera! It will be a shame not to take great photos of the corals in Honda Bay! And there are a lot of boat rides so your camera should be water protected.

Watch your skin!

Bring small tote bags or light backpacks preferably those that do not easily get wet. Not that although slim, your bag still has a chance of diving into the waters esp if you are clumsy! At times you'll also approach or carry it while soaking wet. Plus at times there could be some exciting splashes from the sea as your boat cruises!Avoid bringing things inside plastic grocery bags - esp the white-colored ones! See the warnings and dangers section. For the city tour, wear light walking-gear and sneakers or flat rubber shoes/walking shoes. You might not be comfy entering the church in shorts and/or sandals. But you won't be driven away if you did so anyway. Just don't wear sandos for people will look at you sternly - esp if you were female.Elsewhere (underground cave or honda bay), forget about shoes or sneakers unless those are beach shoes. Sandals are best esp those that have straps....

Non-aerosol Mosquito Repellent, etc.

A waterproof backpack is better when you go to the Underground River. it is easier to maneuver during boat transfers and inside the caves. Stick to the basics. shorts, tank tops and swimsuits. but remember to bring some decent clothes for special dinner and for visiting churches, etc. Bring strong sunscreen and some basic medicines as there is hardly any 24-hrs drugstore. Rest of toiletries you can get in any supermarket. Bring a zip-loc bag for your camera equipment if you are taking the trip this rainy season. Eventhought Palawan has the mildest weather sometimes it rains in the afternoon. So better be safe than sorry! :)BTW, bring an underwater camera with you! A lot of underwater photo opportunities, esp. at Honda Bay. If you don't own one, you can get a cheap Kodak disposable for P499 at any Kodak shop, it works just fine. The "supermarket" at Snake Island, Honda Bay carries some...

OFF is it!

by asianbelle

Since Malaria is highly associated with Palawan, it is best to bring enough supply of OFF mosquito repellant lotion. Both Globe and Smart have cell sites within the city. However Smart has a stronger signal and based on my experience, Globe had fluctuating signal the whole day of my arrival.

Must pack...

by livethedream
