KIM AND QUEEN BAR: Beer, food and karaoke
Kim and Queen is located in Valencia St, a few metres from Mendoza Park. This is frequented by many foreigners as the owner Kim is married to a german guy called Hino. if you are new in town they will be very wiling to help you by answering all your questions and giving you advice. perhaps Kim will take you on a trip in her car if she is not too busy.Sit at the bar and enjoy a few beers, and order some delicious food. Try the pizza, it's cheap and good. Service is quick as there are several beautiful waitresses on hand to serve you. Sometimes it can get a biy noisy with the karaoke but i guess this doesn't matter after a few beers.

PERGOLA BAR: THAI FOOD BUT WESTERN PRICES
This bar is in Rizal Avemue, 200m from the airport. The lady used to run another bar and cooked some good Thai Food anf International dishes. My favourite was the lasagne. For Thai food just quadruple the Thai prices. Local hangout for Australians and Dutch.
KATABOM: LIVE ACOUSTICS and CHEAP BEER
Here you can enjoy live acoustic guitar playing each night while you enjoy your meal. Good food at a reasonable price. We visited Katabom last night again and really enjoyed ourselves so now i update this posting. The place opens up around 5 pm and beers are at a ridiculous low price at 25 pesos a bottle of San Mig until 8 pm, but at 7.55 you are allowed to order as many beers as you like at 25 pesos and the waiter will provide an ice bucket to keep them cold. Don't know what the after 8 pm price is but probably 40 or more. We had pepper steak and sizzling seafood for 180 pesos each, excellent, an the acoustic guitarist came on at 8.30, played music from 60's and 70's. Excellent value, we will be back.
Taverna Luna: Taverna Luna
It was my first time to go to Palawan, and I definitely wanted to hit Taverna Luna since I love their sister restaurants in Quezon City and Boracay. The chain is owned by one family, and each branch is managed by one family member, so you can be assured of the same quality, even if the menu changes from restaurant to restaurant.
The food is traditionally Filipino, specifically with dishes from Bacolod, as well as a lot of continental fare. My personal favorite is the Kansi, a deliciously sour soup like a cross between Bulalo and Sinigang. They also have very good Paella.
They have live bands too, and they have a simple but substantial drink selection. I'm definitely going back.

Taverna Luna Bar &Restaurant: Live Electric and Acoustic Music
Taverna Luna in Rizal Street Puerto Princesa is probably one the best places to chill out in the city.
Music/Live band from Mondays to Saturdays! Can get deafening loud on the weekend.
Taverna Luna is the place to be if you are in the mood for some real relaxation and fun. Especially when the relaxation and fun does not come with a heavy price. The waiters, bartenders and waitresses are very kind and friendly. Taverna Luna opens up many chances to mingle with other fun loving people and tourists. Meeting new people is always a good thing if you desire to expand your social network

KWEBA BAR: HEAVY METAL
See Alan create magic sounds on his guitar as his group 66 FAHRENHEIT play songs from Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, Guns 'N Roses etc. They play at different venues throughout Puerto Princesa but their normal gig is usually at the Kweba Bar which is located in Rizal Avenue about 300m before you reach the airport.
You can always pop in to the bar and ask where Alan will be playing in the next few days---they will know.
GYPSY LAIR ART CAFE: THE GUY WITH THE MAGIC FINGERS
We were treated to a wonderful display of Latino instrumental music by Dempto with his 3 different guitars at Gypsy Lair last night. Dempto normally plays there on Thursdays from 7.30 pm onwards, but you can check on the sign by Gypsy Lair to see who is playing on each night of the week. The place is usually quite packed so try get there on time in order to find a table. Gypsy Lair is also an Art Cafe serving some of the most delicious food in town, ranging from local to Thai to Mexican. Also huge cocktails are on the menu.
So if you feel like listening to Latino music i suggest you make a visit to Gypsy Lair where you can enjoy a few beers, eat a delicious dinner while Dempto strums his guitar.

GYPSY ART CAFE: ACOUSTIC MUSIC NIGHTLY
This is owned by the owner of Kamarikutan which closed down some time ago, but the new business venture seems to be better than the previous. There is acoustic music every night and a wonderful selection of asian food on the menu, as well as some mexican. The prices are reasonable and serve such delightful dishes like chicken cashew sandwiches, and has a well stocked bar. There are tw rooms inside where you can dine and quite a few tables outside also.
Baywalk: a walk to remember
Palawan for me is a place where we relax from our usual life and there is nothing more relaxing than being here in Baywalk and breathing the fresh air and enjoying the sea breeze. This place is so heavenly, very peaceful and you can really feel that you are really on a vacation! Here you can stroll along the bay while watching the setting of the sun, go biking (they have bikes for rent for 25php/hr) or simply sit and have "muni-muni" and recollect your past life & gather for your future, hahaha!! At night here is beautiful especially when the lamp post are turned on and the peacock starts to blink. Most of the people who come here are the locals not so much of the tourist except for those going for dolphin watching. I enjoyed so much here especially seeing the kids having so much fun with their bikes and the locals who are very nice, friendly and so simple.

CASA NIEVES: FULL MOON PARTY
Last night was the first time that the roof top of Casa Nieves hosted some of Puerto Princesa's best musicians as they came together to perform in order to raise funds and donations such as clothing, food and water for the victims of typhoon Yolanda which unleashed her full fury on the northern Palawan Island of Coron. There is now a makeshift bar on the roof top as well as a stall offering several type of food. It is a wonderful setting as the full moon offered enough light and a cool breeze kept everybody happy. As usual the highlight of the show was Kawangis Ng Tribu, the local group that concentrate on keeping tribal music alive using a variety of traditional instruments. During their performance one of the guys performed the fire dance.
From my understanding there will be musical events each month at this venue on the full moon.
Well worth going to if you are in town. Last night's event wound up around 2 am.
Drinks are about the cheapest in town.
TOM-TOMS: GREAT MUSIC AND LIVE EVENTS
Tom-Toms is located in Manalo Extension and all the local trike-drivers will know this place. A good selection of beers, wines and spirits is available here as well as some very good food. The bar/restaurant normally opens up around 5 pm and closes after midnight, depending on how many customers are in attendance. There is live music several nights a week ranging from heavy metal to country and western. All the major sporting events are shown live here, including, F1, Boxing, Rugby, Football etc....
Kinabuch's: Billiards, Music and Beer
Kinabuch's is the best known hang-out spot at the heart of Puerto Princesa. It offers grilled food, cold fresh beer, billiards and great music. I recommend it because it's a pretty big place and the crowd's not that bad. Open till 3 a.m.

This place is diagonally across from the Capital Building and has bulliard tables. KTV and live music every night. Reasonable price, enjoy.
WAREHOUSE 45: GIRL BAND
A girl band usually plays here each night, plenty of locals and plenty of drinking, jusy 200 m from the airport. Really gets busy late evening.
This place is temporarily closed for renovation
EQUSS KTV BAR: KARAOKE
This is another night time karaoke place with many girls hanging around, watch you don't get ripped off buying too many ladies drinks.
