Sambokojin: Korean-Japanese Grill and Buffet (2)

by machomikemd

part 2 of my two part tip with more pictures inside.Sambokojin is the newest kid on the block on the Japanese-Korean Combination Grill and Buffets that are sprouting around the metro manila area due to the influx of a large south korean expatriate community and tourists going to the philippines. They have four branches at present and this is their branch at Quezon City.It competes with the more numerous Yakimix Chain of Japanese-Korean Barbecue Grills and Buffet and they offer similar meals but with Sambokojin concentrating more of the grilled meat cuts which are mostly imported from australia and new zealand. Zambokojin is part of the Kamayan Restaurant Complex in West Avenue with the Kamayan Restaurant and Saisaki Japanese Restaurant. The most packed will be the new Sambokojin Restaurant.Operating Hrs. Mon-Fri 11:30am – 2pm / 6pm – 10pm Sat –Sun 11am – 2pm / 5:30pm – 10pm there are a...

Mister Kabab: Famous Persian Restaurant in West Avenue (2)

by machomikemd

part two of my tip with more pictures of the yummey persian dishes that they offera famous fast service restaurant in the west avenue area of quezon city that serves middle eastern food particularly persian and arabic food. Mister kabbab started as one of the regular stalls in Quezon Avenue and West Avenue Intersection in the 1980's and it became an instant hit that it became packed with people even at night as the place is open fro 24 hours. in the 2000's they moved to a bigger place in West Avenue and still has a 24 hour service for patrons. The area is large with big overhead ceiling fans and minimal middle eastern decor but the food is a knockout both in price and in taste.Opens: 24/7 they have a nice selection of persian and middle eastern dishes like the kofta meat balls at 140 pesos an order, the special chelo kabbab with biryani rice at 150 pesos an order, the regular shawarma...

Taco Bell: My Fave Taco Place

by machomikemd

Taco Bell Started in the philippines in 1982 at quad in Makati City and I had my first taste of this wonderful taco but unfortunately it went bust after 2 years and left the country. I came back 8 years ago and is slowly expanding and having more branches but they still have no branch in makati city. Well everyone knows what taco bell is all about! my favorite is their to die for crunchy tacos with the semi spicy sauce that I can eat 6 crunchy tacos in one sitting. this branch is located at the 2nd floor of the trinoma mall in north avenue quezon city.opens: 10:00 am to 9:00 pm everyday what else but the crunchy soft tacos at 69 pesos a piece and the 1/2 pund beef burrito at 99 pesos and don't forget the cheese quezadillas at 139 pesos an order couple with margarita or strawberry slush at 39 pesos an order.

Jonas Pares: Original Pares Restaurant

by machomikemd

Jonas Pares has the distinction of being the one who invented the popular local dish called the "pares" which is made from slow cooked beef shanks filled with some beef fats and cooked for 12 hours over a charcoal fed fire hence the soft and melt in your mouth texture. Pares is the pairing of the beef stew (similar in taste to Chinese Nanking beef stew with hints of star anise and 5 spice powder as the inventer is a filipino-chinese) with their version of fried rice, filled with fried egg and chinese longganisa. the Restaurant was founded in 1979 by an filipino-chinese matriarch named Lolly Tiu and started here in Mayon Street In Quezon City and now have several branches around the Metro Manila area. The pares are now copied everywhere and you can see many copycat beef pares stalls around the country.Their main branch is at Mayon Avenue has a large dining areaHours M, T, W, Th, F, Sa,...

Starbucks: Great Coffee & Pastries

by cyndymc

We went to Starbucks after lunch at Gerry's Grill. Starbucks needs no introduction, after all, it is an iconic coffeehouse. It offers not only coffee, specialty breads and coffee cakes, but free wifi, too. It is a great place to go for brunch or after-meal coffee and dessert. I like their frappucino.

Gerry's Grill: Great For Family Get-Together

by cyndymc

Gerry's Grill in Cubao, Quezon City offers the same food fare Gerry's Grill has become known for: local favorites, grilled seafood and even exotic cuisine. Although the Cubao Branch is rather small, the ambiance remains inviting to families and groups getting together. We went there to meet my youngest daughter and her family, and although we weren't that euphoric with the food (compared to other Gerry's Grill branches in Metro Manila), the staff's warm, smiling faces compensated for the long wait to be seated and served food.Gerry's Grill is also a popular place for those who simply want to meet for beer and pica-pica. Taco Bell: Mexican Fast Food

by cyndymc

Taco Bell is a welcome place for Mexican food lovers. At Taco Bell, you don't have to spend more for good-tasting Mexican food. Don't expect too much of ambiance and service at this Mexican restaurant though. It is fast food style so tables and chairs are cramped and very few, sometimes you can't help but stand by a table to wait for other diners to finish eating. Service is fair, but could be slow especially during weekends. My grandson kidded that it is slow fast food. Food servings are small, but probably justified by the cost. This is the only restaurant where I was reprimanded for taking pictures ;( Fiesta Taco Salad, Crunchy Taco Supreme, Grilled Chicken Burrito, Nachos Supreme
