MRT Station

The ride from one end of the station to the other will take you only 30 minutes. This is a convenient way to travel as it avoids the traffic jams Manila is famous for :)

Train stations are as follows: North Edsa (Trinoma Mall)-Quezon Avenue-GMA Kamuning-Cubao-Santolan-Ortigas-Shaw-Boni Avenue-Guadalupe-Buendia-Ayala Avenue-Magallanes-Taft Avenue

Some words of caution for the MRT though:
(1) MRT trains can be a bit crowded, so prepare for a mob in an enclosed place.
(2) The first of the three train cabins is reserved for women, the eldery and disabled.
(3) better for you to seat near the door if you will alight in the middle of the rout as it could be quite difficult to get out if the train gets crowded.
(4) avoid riding in the early morning as there is a huge crowd going to work and riding the MRT, even at the first station.
(5) take the usual precautions against theft etc., as you would in any part of the world.
(6) do not much from the MRT in terms of being high-tech or luxury. It gets you there, thats all. :)

Going to and around Quezon City is not a problem if availability is the question. There are a lot of buses which pass by the stretch of Edsa (main hi-way) in Quezon city that goes to the provinces.

Araneta Center, being the busiest area of Quezon City has various provincial Bus station and even Roro stations. Roro (Roll In & Roll-Out) are buses loaded on sea vessels that goes to Cebu, Palawan, Davao, Tagbilaran and many more.
