When Red Ribbon entered the Filipino Market in the 1970s, she had to offer something that the other famous bakeshop wasn't offering. She offered first class affordable cakes and so much more (which was good because the competition improved their products too). The dining area is a fast food "type", but since they cook your meals after you order them, then sometimes it takes long for them to serve. The Aranetas own the master franchise and they have made this resto-chain family-friendly. Most of the branches have very alert and efficient staff. They are neat and very, very courteous.
RJ loves the spare ribs, the 1/4 chicken with spaghetti, the dessert sampler, the BBQ Cheesy Volcano Pizza and the Vegetarian. Theme: PizzaComparison: about averageAddress: All over the countryPhone: (for delivery) +63(2)9111111Website: http://www.pizzahut.com.ph

by hunwagner The Philippines have long had an undeservedly poor reputation when it comes to food. Much of that must be a result of wrong expectations: if you expect "exotically" spicy dishes along the lines of Thai or Chinese, you will have to be disappointed. Much of traditional Filipino cooking has evolved along the Spanish lines - chicken and pork are the local favourites, often in the form of some stew. The Americans have left their legacy in the form of Filipino fondness for fastfood - though for all their efforts, Filipinos still can't make junk food as bad as the real thing! ;-) With all the sea around, there is of course plenty of seafood, though it doesn't usually come really cheap. If you find all these boring and wish for something more adventurous, well, the opportunity is certainly there! I suggest that you try "balut", available throughout the Philippines, or some traditional tribal cuisine such as "aso" (being prepared on the photo) favoured by the Cordilleran tribes! If even these aren't exotic enough for you ... ;-) Leave a Comment Theme: Local

out of the restaurant, going back to the hotel by namiewa, 3 more photos While looking for restaurant to eat, we pass by of this restaurant until we decided to get back. This Chinese Restaurant had all fresh fish, crabs, shrimps, and shells. What I mean is all alive in the aquarium like other restaurant. However, at that time lots of students come in and had their dinner which makes the restaurant like a market it’s real noisy. Well, I still enjoy eating there though the waitress is friendly and they served you all the time. If you only let them to use the spoon and you were just sitting waiting to serve you like a baby they will do. Ha ha ha. They have Fresh Vege Dessert
This Is what my sister order, "grill fish" it is common to be in the restaurant and you order that kind of dish. Well, at this time while looking for menu I haven’t much special, despite the fact that I don’t eat beef. I do eat pork but not much. A simple grill fish surrounded by slice tomato and cucumber makes me “oh I felt that im only at the house eating of this!”. Put lot of sauce in the fish and it will taste really yummy with rice on plate and mango shake beside. I am full of course, but wait I ordered shrimps.. Beach Vendors by herzog63 At all of the popular beaches will have fruit vendors that pass through from time to time selling all kinds of local specialties. My favorite in the Philippines is the Cheeko! Some people don't like them but I can easily eat 1-4 kilos of these things per day!! The last time I went to the Philippines my mother in-law bought me a my very own crate of them! It was hilarious but they were all eaten!! The fruits will cost a bit more on the beach than they would in the local market but they are still quite affordable.
Another favorite of mine is the Gayabano. I only like to eat Gayabano if I'm at the beach because it is so juicy I usually make a mess of it and go for a swim after I'm done eating it. Mangos,Pineapple, papaya, bananas (try the little red ones) the list goes on and on!! Leave a Comment Theme: Street VendorComparison: least expensive

Can't miss it by D._Pepper The Bag of Beans grows and brews its own coffee blend. If you're there at breakfast, try the humongous omelette! Coffee and eats in a garden setting.
Coffee, of course! Leave a Comment Theme: CoffeehousePrice: less than US$10 » Currency ConverterComparison: less expensive than averageAddress: Tagaytay CityDirections: By the roadside, on the right, just after Taal Vista Lodge but before Royal Tagaytay.

Typical table setting by D._Pepper The garden setting sets the tone for the almost vegetarian fare that you'll get at Sonya's. Dinner is the best time to go, to catch the sunset, and enjoy the colors of the garden.
There's a set menu that doesn't change. Fresh greens with the most imaginative dressings to start with, then pasta with a mix it yourself topping/sauce. Bottomless dayap (local citrus) juice to wash down the meal. Dessert consists of local delicacies prepared very cleverly. And mint tea ends the delightful meal. Sitting area by D._Pepper This is a place to be enjoyed, not just for the food, but also for the ambience. Stay until dark, and then go stargazing or just pick a nice spot in the garden for the most quiet and peaceful experience within an hour and a half of Manila. Mc Donald's Banner by syllybabe Mc Donald's has been known to add items on their menu to suit the palate of the country where they are in. In the Philippines, they started out by adding Mc Spaghetti because of the love of Filipinos for this particular dish and they recreated their hamburger to become Burger McDo which tastes more like something we're used to rather than their bland burger patties. All this effort is also spurred on by the fact that Jollibee, a local fast food chain, just can't be toppled as number one in the country because their food just tastes more...filipino, I guess. Mc Donald's did the funniest things recently and I just couldn't stop laughing everytime I pass the one about 200m from our house. Several months ago they came up with Arroz Caldo with Chicken which really surprised me because that was kinda off from whatever they usually serve. I tried it and liked it so, cool. They did well on that one. The biggest surprise came this week. Get this...Mc Do Rice Burger! Take a look at the photo I took of their banner. I think it's ridiculously funny. Whoever thought of it must be...wacky! I guess if people end up liking it...the joke's on me.
