The city is dotted with parks and plazas that are family-friendly. One example is RTR or Remedios Trinidad-Romualdez Plaza named after the mother of Imelda Marcos. It is located across the street from CAP Building.
Other parks are the UP Botanical Garden (across UP Tacloban), Family/Children's Park (adjacent to Balyuan Tower), and Liberty Plaza (infront of Provincial Capitol).

Within the compound of Tacloban City Hall near the perimeter fence, is the Philippine-Japanese peace memorial marker. Since Leyte was one of the Philippine provinces that was bombarded and figured heavily during World War II, several Phil-Japan peace-friendship memorials can be found all over the province.

As its name implies, the Redemptorist Church was built in honor of our Mother of Perpetual Help, similar to the one in Baclaran (Pasay City).
Not much information was available regarding this church. It was only when we secured a map of Tacloban that my friend noticed it and planned to visit if our time permits. We forgot about it until on our way to the airport, the jeepney we were riding passed by the church. We decided to get off and dropped by to offer prayers.
Redemptorist is located along Real Street, across the street from Bethel Hospital.

Overlooking the Leyte Gulf is a dome-shaped building that is now on its finishing stage of construction. This is the soon to open Tacloban Convention Center which looks like a smaller version of Araneta Coliseum (Quezon City).
Located near the boundary of Tacloban and Palo, it is one of the two easily recognizable landmarks during the plane's descent - the other one being the bell tower of Sto. NiƱo Church.

Taken from the Viewing Tower, after the heavy rains. I'm not sure but I think I remember an article saying that a large part of the water which killed many people during the Ormoc Flood Tragedy came from Danao Lake area.
