Antonio's Farm: Restaurant with a long waiting list of clients

    by arni_ph075 Written Nov 3, 2005

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

My description of the place is "WOW".

Its a great place for romantic dinner date, reunions or a place to unwind with clients after a hectic board meetings. An amazing destination, candles is the main illumination of the place, a garden setting that its tables are far from each other to give a certain degree of privacy. Bring a light jacket as it can be chilly at night... cold Tagaytay breeze.

The house music is really really good, mix of Indian, and French music, a great collection that was specially mixed for the place from a DJ friend of Chef Escalante.. We even ask if they sell a CD copy, unfortunately they dont.

Service is impecabble, and they are very strict on the timing of your reservations as well as your arrival . All guests feel very special as all staff are friendly. A place that I want to go back soon.

Favorite Dish: My favorite is the Grilled Chillean Sea Bass on Linguine with Trruffle Clam Sauce. Really delicious.

Antonio's set menu includes house salad, soup of the day, main course, dessert and coffee or tea. Your choice of the main course will be the price of your set menu. For the Sea bass it costs 1,100 pesos.

For the dessert I really like their panacota with oven dried fruits & fruit coulis. Its not so sweet and just right portion after a filling fish main course.

    Sonya's Garden: Garden Luncheon

    by arni_ph075 Updated Nov 3, 2005

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Sonya's Garden is my favorite restaurant. I like the concept of dining in the garden, their eclectic dining wares of fine china, and the food....fabulous.

By the way, the rest room, its really cool, open air with only a mosquito net, between you and the cows on the hills.. :-)

The service is fantastic, its a must to make a reservation for either lunch or dinner as sometimes they are fully booked.

Per person is 550 pesos (inclusive already of service charge).

Favorite Dish: Sonya's offer the same menu for the longest time that Ive been visiting the place.. Good thing is its buffet, and eat all you can..

The salad is great, I like it with pop nuts, egg, cucumber, and the special Sonya's dressing.

For the oven fresh bread, I usually pair it with the kesong puti, or the pesto.

The main course is pasta, I like the creamy chicken white sauce with mango... And pasta with the sun dried tomato then with shrimps..Yummy..

The dalandan juice and the tarragon tea are one of a kind.

Sonya's Garden: Must do when in Tagaytay

    by tortoise128 Updated May 8, 2004

Catering mainly with vegetarian food grown locally in the garden, Sonya's Garden is an excellent spot for a leisurely lunch in beautiful surrounds. The restaurant is very busy, with a lot of people coming daily from Manila for lunch, so make sure you book.

And make sure you take the time to have a look around.

There are some villas there that are very attractive and huge (screened but not air-conditioned). Would be very nice for a quiet weekend.

  • Sonya's Garden: Fresh lettuce, salad dressing, rose petals!

by honeyblue Updated Feb 19, 2004

It was my first time to visit Sonya's Garden, along with my first-timer colleagues and a not-so-first-timer friend. The restaurant is located inside a garden, which makes a very pleasant and refreshing ambience. With all the green and leafy plants, everywhere you look is soothing to the eyes. Soft music is also being played while having your meal.

Favorite Dish: Freshhhhhhhhh dalandan juice! =P
