Picnic Grove, Tagaytay
Picnic Grove is very nice park where most families spend their time. When we strolled around I found this cottages are in the right place for viewing Taal Volcano. Many people coming here for picnic, as what this place called. The cottages are really nice with concrete bench. They are in different size and so as the rent price.
The cottage is located not far from the entrance, is easy to locate for people coming with own vehicle. During our visit is not very warm and have rain, but I see visitors still coming for picnic. I heard from our driver that this cottages are mostly occupied in the weekend. Many locals from Manila take a day trip and have a picnic here. If the weather is good, the view from Taal Volcano can be amazing from this spot. Cottage rentals start from100 Pesos to 500 Pesos

We only interested to stroll around, so we follow the Eco trail. Is a nice walk along the boardwalk where we sometimes passes through bridge. During our walk we saw zip line passing through above us. Why they called it Eco trail? it is because walked in environment where a lot of plant and trees which is really nice and quiet.

While hiring a tricycle for a day, we took the advantage to get around with it. After Taal island we went to this park. Picnic Groove is worth to see, is a place for everyone for young and old. For adventurous people is a place to be. Horse ride, Zipline were available. But for us we don't like zipline and we're not intend to do it, we just want to stroll around
It is a big park, better to look the map in the area before continuing. At least you know where you were going. One can have a nice walk around the park. We went here on a weekday, but still busy, there are cottages where everyone can do picnic where the view of the Volcano is visible.

For picnic lovers, this is the place in Tagaytay. Picnic Grove offers a variety of recreations for everybody, especially the family. They have picnic cottages and pavilions worth P150-P500 each, a lush 500 meters long eco-adventure trail (with one disgusting sight though - lots of garbage below the hanging bridge midway of the trail -- calling the attention of the park management!!), a paintball war jungle, a volcano and lake viewdeck, a horseback riding area and some nice souvenir shops.

Parking Fee: P25
The Picnic Grove Complex in Sungay presents a splendid panoramic view of Taal Lake and Volcano. About 10 km east of Tagaytay, on Mt Sungay (750m) the Viewpoint Complex was built. From the public view deck here you have a marvellous view of lake Taal to the south, Laguna de Bay to the east and almost as far as Manila to the north. Jeepneys go up there regularly from the Tagaytay Rotonda (Silang Crossing), stopping on the way at the turn-off down to Talisay.
Entrance fee is P25/pax. Cottage rentals cost P100-P250 depending on size. Overnight accomodation P1400. The place also offers Eco Trail which provides a beautiful view of the vicinity. It's a long and a bit challenging walk along the trail but nature lover will surely love it.
This is a good place to relax and take in Taal Lake especially during sundown. The colors of the sunset make for drama.
