    Sonya's Garden

by sanggano Written Apr 9, 2013

Sonya's Garden has grown over the years. From a restaurant, bed and breakfast (which is accessible to guests only) and herb garden, the Gardens now include a spa, bakery, country store which sells local artisanal products, and a furniture display room.

Quite a compact area, we prefer dropping in towards sundown when the place is less busy. Have a foot spa or massage. Pick up a pan de coco, Spanish bread or wheat bread at the bakery on the way out, scented soap at the country store. And if you are into gardening, herb plants are for sale too.

The bed and breakfast is in a guests-only enclave up the road. Spacious rooms that guarantee privacy, this is a place for a quiet retreat from the city bustle. Candle lit dinners in a garden setting. We got a family room with 4 beds set apart from each other, which ensured each one had a quiet nook to read or watch a video on iPad...

If you want to relax and feast your eyes on nature's beauty, Tagaytay is highly recommended. Located just 10kms from Tagaytay, Sonya's garden is a restaurant/bed and breakfast located amidst a charming fragrant English garden. It only has organic food on the menu, as I understand, and it also has a spa, country store and even its own bakery (where you can buy freshly baked bread). The service in the restaurant is very good, although a bit pricey at P610 for an eat-all-you-can menu of salad, pasta and dessert. But I think the experience of being in the garden is already imputed in the cost, being in this romantic garden with all the beautiful and colorful flowers, big butterflies and never before seen specie of plant (Mickey Mouse plant). Kids also enjoy this place although there's not much to do after you've eaten to your heart's content and enjoyed lounging in the garden. Lovers of organic food will certainly enjoy this place.

    Anything more romantic than this?

A restaurant with a fragrant garden where you could take a walk at night or lay in beds with nets for a romantic tryst.
