For picnic lovers, this is the place in Tagaytay. Picnic Grove offers a variety of recreations for everybody, especially the family. They have picnic cottages and pavilions worth P150-P500 each, a lush 500 meters long eco-adventure trail (with one disgusting sight though - lots of garbage below the hanging bridge midway of the trail -- calling the attention of the park management!!), a paintball war jungle, a volcano and lake viewdeck, a horseback riding area and some nice souvenir shops.
Entrance Fee: P25pp
Parking Fee: P25

Our group went to Bag of Beans last April 12 and 13th and it was exciting since it was my first time to taste the infamous meat pies.
The menu included meat and fruit pies (chicken, tuna, beef, another one with meat + mushrooms, pineapple, apple). Wanting to play safe, I ordered a chicken pie with a hot mug of White Mocha. They also serve rice, pasta and other desserts.
I loved their pie, it was filling, could pass for a main meal of the day, such as lunch or dinner.
My friend ate shepherd's pie, it had minced beef and instead of the usual pie crust, it was enclosed with mashed potatoes! Yum! She also got herself a BOTTOMLESSS order of barako coffee.
Regular pies price range: 80 to 120 php while the shepherd's pie is around 150 php.
I was a bit dissappoited with their White Mocha thingy, though. It was way too sweet.
You can also avail of their mugs, coffee beans, jams, bread, preserves, honey at the Bag of Beans store.

Going to TAGAYTAY is always a family affair for locals especially in the Philippines. As my family lives at Sta. Rosa, Laguna which is just about half an hour's drive from there, we go to Tagaytay every time we want to escape the crowds in Manila or even in our own hometown and to savour the fresh cool air in this mountain place.
It can be hote here too but we often come after Christmas as there are less tourists.
Picnics are a must-do here. Filipinos, who are famous for loving their food a lot, flock to the picnic areas here which are available for a small fee. Don't worry if you did not bring a lot of food (which is unlikely)/or run out of supplies as numerous vendors are around to cater to every tastebud!
The views while eating will surely give you more inspiration and forget your diet! The cool breeze alone will be enough to inspire!

one thing you can do when in tagaytay is to get a massage at nurture spa. they offer a variety of massages that cater from your head to your foot. what's best is that they offer packages that usually includes a massage, food and use of their accomodations. we took advantage of their valentine promo and stayed overnight. this included a stay at their serenity cottage (aircon) with adjoining couple's massage room and bathtub, full set dinner, breakfast and snacks, and their magsing-irog massage for P10,760.00. not bad coz of all the extras included plus the service was excellent. truly worth the stay especially if you just want to get away with a loved one for a weekend.

This farm is about 10-15 minutes drive from Tagaytay. It is actually located in Silang, Cavite.
There is a farm store in front where you can get pasalubongs made out of honey and other associated bee products. The prices are reasonable. Everyone likes their products. I used their shampoo and it is very soothing and refreshing! My cousins and aunt also loved their soaps!

-Short trek: 1.7km trek (from what i read in their office)
Wear comfy clothes and shoes. (Be prepared to get your shoes dirty).
Bring water, shades/cap, sunscreen lotions, extra shirt to change after the trek.
Try not to rent horse to do the walking for you, come on, you probably need the exercise. I have asthma and is overweight but i made it.
Trek for me is divided into three parts:
DIFFICULT part - the first 20 to 30mins of your trek. Here, you will be discouraged by the locals, and then willl offer you to ride their horse instead. (BTW, the horse looks fragile to me, underfed and very small.) You might be temped to rent the horse cause the path here isnt easy, plus, avoiding the horse's poops (and they are almost everywhere) and having to put up to its smell adds to the difficulty level. But i tell you, WALK. Its all worth the while. HORSE RENTAL: PHP500
VERY ENJOYABLE PART - middle part of the trip. You'll see why renting a horse is not really needed. Walk is here is like walking in the park.. with spectacular view all around you. Very breeezy.. Stop all you want and take pictures. HORSE RENTAL: PHP250
HARD part: Nearing the crater, the trek will again be a bit harder, not to worry, its just only for less than 5mins. Path is inclined which makes it A BIT harder.
Now ur in the crater!! Embrace your victory.
I did - all that walk and only one puff from my inhaler!!
(I had plenty when we went BATAD trekking.)
Stay as long as you wish, relax and enjoy the view.
