island hopping to the Virgin Island

by theguardianangel

Get ready for another island hopping in the Virgin Island! The first time I heard about this virgin island, I wondered if it’s the official name and yes, it really is Virgin Island!SoOo excited to get to another paradise!!!! there's a few differences I observed in the virgin island compared to bantayan. The water in Bantayan is somewhat like 50% blue and 50% green but in the virgin island- it’s like 75% greener and 25% blue color (that’s my own calculation). The beach has very clear water! You an even see your reflection on it!A few houses can be found in the virgin island… well, probably that’s where it got its name.Good thing that when we did the island hopping, there were only few people spending the holiday so it’s like we own the island!from Bantayan we talked to some people in the resort, actually there were locals who offer to hire their boat for island hopping. Price ranges from...

When I got to Bantayan Island! The only word i keep on blurting out was "Wow!"I thought I was on a paradise while Adam and Eve are hiding in the coconut trees. The view is really breathtaking! Island hopping

by quincey0722

Your suggestion sounds good Rastarigo. A day or two at camiguin then Bohol another day or two. 6 km away from Tagbilaran (Bohol's capital city) is the town of Baclayon, whenever you go for a tour around Bohol this one of the stop over's since the oldest stone church is there. Another thing there is an island across Baclayon called PAMILACAN (small beautiful island) you can see some dolphins and if lucky whales. Take a boat from Baclayon mini pier or lighthouse (ask from the Market the boat schedule)several cottages and small nipa huts available for rent or just sit and relax at the beach halfday, swim and enjoy the view! A small pavement ( main road) leads up and down to the other side of Pamilican where you can find a village that use to hunt mantarays for a living. This island being promoted for eco-tourism to help the local people economically and finally stop mantaray killings. From...

by theguardianangel

Jesus Shrine or Kamay ni HesusThis shrine is located in the southern part of the Philippines- Lucban, Quezon. It was founded by a Catholic Priest, Father Joseph Faller.Usually this place is visited by pilgrims and people, locally and abroad, who want to meditate, pray and experience the miracle of healing by Father Faller. In this place is a chapel, where masses are held: 9am Monday-FridayHealing Mass 930am Wednesday & Friday Anticipated Mass 5pm SaturdaySunday Masses 730am, 9am, 1030am, 1130am and 4pmAnd the Via Dolorosa Hill where a 365+ stairs are constructed, on its left and right sides.Absolutely, no entrance fees.from the entrance, at the right side are the life size statues that portray the sorrowful mystery up to the Glorious mystery while adjacent to it are the statues of the joyful mystery. Pahiyas Festival

by theguardianangel

Pahiyas Festival is celebrated every 15th of May in the province of Quezon, south of Manila. This festival is basically the tradition of the natives, a hundred years back when the Spaniards arrived, to put their harvests outside their houses instead going out in a procession with the statue of Saint Isidore or locally called as San Isidro.Pahiyas Festival will not be complete without the “kiping”. Kiping is a colored and edible rice paper that is used as decorations in the entire house. Kiping is usually deep fried and dipped in vinegar/sugar. My cousins use to dip it in sugar.Pahiyas festival is about the colorful decorations of kiping everywhere in the Lucban.Kiping is decorated in hats, dresses, public vehicles and most especially the houses. The decoration of the houses with kipings shows the artistic talents of owners/relatives working together. The most awaited moment is when the...

Barasoain Church

by theguardianangel

After we facilitated a workshop in the city of Bulacan, our team decided to drop by the Barasoain Church since it’s just a few meters away from the hospital where the event was held. This was the 2nd time I got a view of the church; I had my 1st visit here when we had our filed trip during my High school days. And that was a very long time ago, actually, I can’t remember the church until I stepped infront of the church again, this time. When I stepped inside the church, it's beautiful... I believe there's a continuous renovation going on.Barasoain church is a national shrine of the country. It’s one of the venues where important events happened in the history of the Philippines. It's a significant landmark of the country since it’s where the Philippine Constitution was drafted. This church became the home of the 1st president of the Philippines, Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo. It’s where Inauguration...

Manila area

lhablhet's suggestions are really good.Let me share some information also. I enjoyed the river ride at PAGSANJAN falls it was really exciting( 3-4 person in 1 boat 2 boat man at each end will navigate and carry the boat up and down the river) dont bring a bag as it may fall over or get wet. After pagsanjan, we went to taal volcano ( you'll have to find a boat to take u to the middle of the volcano island as it is in a lake! I forgot the boat fare but I remember the horse rental was 1000 pesos ( maybe $25-30 now) after you get off from the boat there is a horse barn and people will be calling you to rent, if you want that then you must find a really good horse as most are too small and has small legs to go up the volcano. You can opt to walk up the volcano but its very dusty. Its a breath taking view up there! Once you're back on the boat you'll get wet again so its ok coz the dust from...

Puerto Galera.

by cachaseiro

Puerto Galera is a nice little beach place with good diving on Mindoro island. It´s fairly easy to reach from Manila as you just need to drive 2-3 hours south to Batangas and then take the ferry from there to Puerto Galera. It´s a very cosy place situated in a bay with lot´s of nice small hidden beaches you can visit with the local boats. The place has a large expat community and a few bars that caters to them.As a dane i could not help noticing that there are quite a few people from the danish hippie community living part of the year in Puerto Galera. All in all i thought the place was really nice and i would certainly like to visit the place again.

Caleruega: The Transfiguration Chapel

by theguardianangel

Caleruega is a small town in Spain, but the Caleruega here in the Philippines is the ideal location for peace, relaxation and the best place where to get married. The Transfiguration Chapel’s façade is a replica of the original chapel in Spain.Caleruega is located down south Luzon in Nasugbu, Batangas. The chapel is located atop the hill so the view is really perfect that most of wedding rites are held and a favorite location by road trippers to stop by.Directions are as follows:LAND TRAVEL (from Manila to Nasugbu, Batangas - Caleruega or Tagaytay City)Private Vehicle : From down South (Alabang/ Sucat areas), via South Luzon Espressway take the Sta. Rosa exit. Proceed towards Tagaytay market and turn right to reach Tagaytay rotonda. Upon reaching the rotonda, go straight and follow the landmarks in the map.Via South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) -Take Sta.Rosa Exit. Proceed towards Tagaytay...
