Boracay.

by cachaseiro

Boracay is one of the best known beach places in the Philippines and it´s quite a developed place these days, but i still love it to bits and will come back again and again. It´s a sm all island that is quite easily reached from Manila with a 1 hour flight and then a little boatride. The sand there is really fine and you have bars and resaurants lined up along the beach. It is probaply not the perfect place if you want a whole beach to yourself, but if you like a gorgeous beach with a good social scene and lot´s of happy people then this is it.I personally just love when there are a lot of little beach bars where you can sit and chill with a drink while watching the sea.

Wedding/Reception at Sonya's Garden

by cyndymc

If your wedding is at the Chapel of Transfiguration in Caleruega, you may consider having your reception at Sonya's Garden which is only a few minutes drive from Batulao. Wedding Receptions may be held indoor at their dining Hall or outdoor in the gardens. Many mistake Sonya's Garden as part of Tagaytay City; actually, it is part of Alfonso, Cavite. Sonya's Garden is a dream venue of many brides for garden weddings and/or reception because of the beautiful ambience, lush greens and foliage.

Where to go on a rainy day in September

by cyndymc

September will still be a rainy season for the country...But rain or no rain, Filipinos still go on with their annual festivals. Some interesting festivals for September include: T'boli Tribal Festival in South Cotabato which features authentic tribal rituals amidst the sound of drums & gongs and native music starting at early dawn in Lake Sebu, culminating at the town plaza for cultural dances and ethnic sports like horsefight;Tuna Festival at General Santos City (Boxing Champion Manny Pacquiao's home city);Annual Culinary Exhibit of the Chefs on Parade at first class hotels and restaurants (if you love food trips);Grand Fluvial Parade in honor of miraculous Nuestra Senora de Penafrancia in Naga City, Camarines Sur, Bicol Region where the image of the Lady of Penafrancia is carried through the river aglow hundreds of floating candles. From Naga, you can go wakeboarding/surfing in...

Back To Boracay

by kidfree

We were undecided about making a return trip to Boracay after a ten year absence. It was just starting to get a tiny bit busy and so it seemed a good idea to seek places newThen late last year ( 2009 ) friends booked a trip and asked if we would like to meet them there so we thought "sure, why not?". Arriving at Caticlan I wasn`t sure I liked the purpose built departure jetty but reminded myself that the authorities need to have some control over arrival and departure numbers so we paid our fees and jumped on our boat. I liked the arrival terminal even less. I really missed arriving on White beach and wading through the shallows and strolling to our hotel. Getting a taxi van and travelling down BUSY roads made my heart sink even more. Arriving at our hotel and my mood picked up, "hmmm, not bad, nice room, nice pool". A few minutes stroll down a path on to White beach and the gloom...

The Beach experience

by Moira126

The Philippines has fabulous beaches, each with a different character. Your choice would depend on what type of a beach experience you would like to have. If you like a lot of activity, people, nightlife, then Boracay would be a good fit. You could fly from Shanghai to Manila, then from Manila you can take a flight to Caticlan airport (lots of flights from Philippine airlines, Cebu Pacific, Seair). Then from Caticlan airport, its about a 5 minute trike ride to the Caticlan port to ride a boat to Boracay. There are many different resorts in Boracay. I suggest you look online and make a reservation before you go, especially during the summer. Then you can arrange for them to pick you up at the port. But if you want a laid back experience, a little more isolated and more of nature, Palawan would be a better idea. You could either visit Coron or El Nido. In the same way, you could fly to...

Don´t miss to visit the Island of Mindanao

by MTrue

Why not visit Mindanao ,even though some parts are dangerous here, but as a Tourist you will hardly encounter any problems since the so called troubespots are far away from the Tourist sites. There is danger everywhere,if you want a perfect palce to live you have to have your soul saved and go to heaven.I live on MIndanao ,a western Family and there are many family´s now who come to Mindanao from the USA and Australia to live here in this forgotten tropical paradise.Check it out for youself check the Mindanao Page in VT .

Rent your own Jeep

by kenstan

After I told my wife I would never get on a Philippine bus again we flew into Laoag to go to Vigan. The bus is 600 pecos the plane is 1200 so for a little bit of money you get there in a hour instead of 12 hours.Getting to the airport there was just trycicles and very small ones and 1 guy with a jeep so I rented it to drive to Vigan and I'll tell you it was the first time I enjoyed getting into a jeep.
