Unless someone is picking you up from the airport, I would suggest packing lightly when visiting Zamboanga. There are no taxies and the main sources of transportation are via tricycles and jeepneys. The weather is hot and humid most of the time. If you happen to be in Zamboanga during rainy season, make sure you bring a good, sturdy pair of rubber slippers. Sidewalks are sometimes laden with mud and dirt carried over from the streets from the rain.
