Things to remember before planning your trip to this island:
1. For foreigners, I believe some of the countries like Europe and US citizens are releasing some travel advises for their citizens. I even heard they advice them to keep away from Zamboanga, Basilan and Sulu. So just be updated about the advices from your consulate office. But I tell you, its safe. I was there and its all good!
2. Get a permit from Department of Tourism local office in Zamboanga. You will be listed and you need to leave contact number of relatives if in case of emergency (hahaha this really bothers me) The policy and procedure was good enough to keep track of all the individuals coming in and out of the Island.
3. Boat rental is 1,000 round trip even can accommodate a maximum of 10.
4. Security escort is for free. But you can give some tips if you want .
