Changi Village is near the Straits of Johor and host one of the beaches of Singapore where you can spend your time with swimming, camping, sun tanning, playing in the sand, etc. Mostly quiet but during weekends and school holiday seasons ( June and December ) it can be crowded. While laying down on the sand, you can spot low flying airplanes on approach for Changi International Airport, which is just around the corner. On sea you can see huge ships and tankers passing the beach to one of the ports in Straits of Johor. If you like to camp, then is Changi Beach is marvelous place. Singaporeans like to camp with tents on the beach during weekends and school holidays. And to make your camping complete, you can also book one of the barbeque pits around the beach. See the website of Singapore's National Parks Board for more information about the pits. At the western end of Changi beach ends the Changi River into the sea. You will spot here many small boats travelling to Pulua Ubin and Malaysia or fishing boats.

The Sree Ramar Temple at Changi Village is the only temple of its kind in South East Asia which is dedicated to Lord Ramar, and situated in an almost unique location facing the East, overlooking the sea and guarding the village. The Temple has a rich and colourful history stretching back more than 50 years. From its humble beginnings as a shrine at the foot of a tree at its present site, it has become a spiritual centre for the Hindu community in eastern Singapore. There is also another uniqueness of the Temple - Changi Sree Ramar Temple is the only temple in South East Asia to have Sri Ragavendra in Brindavanam. Leave a Comment
